Nine and a half minutes to go, third quarter Texans and Raiders. Texans up 20 to three right now on the Las Vegas Raiders. Coming up in just a little bit, Matt, we will get the Los Angeles Chargers taking on the San Francisco 49ers. Looking at the current market, Circa, down to almost a pick them between the Chargers and the 49ers, total sitting at 38 and a half. And just a reminder, starters for the Chargers expected to play one series each.
**Matt Youmans** (0:46)
Yeah, we're gonna see a little Justin Herbert tonight, but you're only gonna see a little bit of Herbert tonight. It's like a cameo appearance for the Chargers quarterback. They're gonna be out there for one drive. And then after that, the backups take over. What will we get from Trey Lance, DJ Uwe Ungle? We're gonna see a battle for the backup quarterback job for the Chargers. Lance has got the edge right now. I thought DJ played pretty well last week. That was the game in which the Chargers whipped the Texans 27-7.
And we're seeing a much better effort out of the Texans tonight against the Raiders. I think, you know, this has flipped to... Do we have a line move in this game? What do we have right now?
**SPEAKER_4** (1:26)
They just flipped it.
**Tim Murray** (1:27)
I was looking behind us seeing what the number was and they just flipped something to the regular season. So I do believe the Chargers still a two-point underdogs here at home.
**Matt Youmans** (1:36)
Yeah, the lines flipped in favor of the 49ers. Kyle Shanahan, he said he's gonna play starters. He looks like the coach who's more focused on game planning to win, if you want to call it that tonight, at least seeing more from his ones than the Chargers and Jim Harbaugh do.
But that's really a really minor flip in the number. The 49ers minus one and a half again. We saw a flip in favor of the Raiders before tonight's game. And these line moves have backfired on the betters. Raiders went from one and a half point dogs to two point favorites, and Raiders have stuck again tonight.
**Tim Murray** (2:12)
And if that's gonna be another one of those three-point line moves based on where it started, where it closed, what is it?
0-11-1, ATS. So, steam chasin has made you broke this time of year, at least so far. 20-3 is the score live total down to 36 and a half between the Texans and the Raiders. Matt, Doug Kazarian will be co-hosting with you tomorrow night as Will Hill takes his 43 kids to the Yankees game. Hopefully he hasn't been steam chasin, cause I imagine that'll make him broke tomorrow. But, Doug Kazarian posed the question, are you now considering not playing the Raiders in the first week of Survivor? His tweet, are people rethinking Raiders in Survivor pools for week one after watching the preseason?
**Matt Youmans** (3:02)
Well, we said this last week too. After watching the Raiders VS the Cardinals, we talked about it on the show that night. Are you going to rethink your plan, if you want to call it that, or your thoughts to maybe play the Raiders in week one against the Dolphins? If you're looking, if you use the Raiders at home in week one against the Dolphins, you kind of feel like you stole one if they get to win, right? Because you're not going to want to use the Raiders really in any spots again the rest of the year. But that's a spot where the Raiders should win at home. And again, you can make the case that that's still going to be a pretty good Survivor play, because Tim, as bad as the Raiders look defensively tonight, they don't have their starting linebackers out there, they don't have Max Crosby out there, and they got a lot of guys on the sideline.
It does make me nervous, though, because I plan to have a few Survivor entries on the Raiders, and they've looked rotten in the first couple of games. You can just tell that the talent is not there, especially on defense. They have not drafted well in recent years.
**Tim Murray** (3:58)
And pass catchers, too. That pass catching, that wide receiver course.
**Matt Youmans** (4:02)
Why did they not draft a receiver?
The Raiders are really weak at the wide receiver position, and defensively, they don't have much depth, and the Raiders don't have much talent on defense. And yeah, those are concerns. I can't put too many circuit of survivor entries on the Raiders because they have looked rotten here in the first couple of games. It's obvious the talent is not there on the depth chart right now. Should they beat the Dolphins at home in week one? Hell yeah, the Dolphins are going to be a god-awful team, too. That's one that Kirk Cousins has got to win if he wants to keep the job for a while. I'm still going to probably play the Raiders on a few entries, but yeah, it makes me nervous.
