Power hour set to begin here on VSiN By The Books. I'm Dave Ross right here at the Men's Gaming Hall, Franklin, Kentucky, in our VSiN studio overlooking beautiful circus sports. He's our closer to St. Louis, a very happy city. They're waking up in the city of Cleveland. Got a great lineup here. Paul Kelley is going to join us here to talk some fantasy football. And also look at that from a prop perspective as well. If you're in the prop market, it's two players maybe to add to your roster. Zachary Cohen is going to join us. The NBA betting guide is out right now, people. You need to get your hands on that and peruse that. And the frozen frenzy today, everybody in the NHL is on the ice. That's why we got the Iceman himself. Jonathan Davis on the program to round out a great hour here on VSiN by the books. But we love it and our betting lives, we need it. And we're going to get it right now. It is time for our chaos candidates.
One man's trash can be another man's treasure. Jensen Lewis, I've won the coin toss this week, and I'm going to elect to receive Marvin Harrison Jr. You sir are my first chaos candidate. And it's not so much that, all right, you know, they're going to get that B label, that bust label is going to come out there. Well, that's going to happen when you're the fourth overall pick in the NFL draft just a couple of years ago in 2024
And here's how you have the opportunity to shake off that label, Marvin. You're going to a great spot.
You're going to a winner. You're going to the Houston Texans. You're out of Arizona. And by the way, not only do they believe in you by trading for you, they gave up a second round pick for you in next year's draft. So, yeah, it's not the same capital for a fourth overall pick that Arizona spent on you, but to be able to say, hey, this guy's not very good anymore and it's not working out at this level, we'll give you a second round pick and a late round pick in the same draft, that means Houston believes in you. Now, you've got to believe in yourself because the spot that you're going in, I know people are getting on CJ Stroud. His numbers have not been that bad. CJ's thrown it up pretty well all over that lot and they need somebody opposite Nico Collins to make this team at one and four sing offensively and I'll tell you this, you might be the exact thing they need. So Marvin Harrison Jr., you've got a chance not just for your career, but also for the Texans in the short term to say you guys made the right move, Arizona made the mistake of dealing me away, and I'm going to prove it to you, you sir could be a chaos candidate in the Houston, Texas, quite frankly, are banking on it.
Jensen Lewis (2:48)
Dave, in history, we have had biblical times where holy wars have defined eras, generations, reshape the globe as we know it. We could be on a collision course for arguably the most consequential holy war on a college football field in quite some time. The Utah Utes, they control their own destiny right now off to 5 and start their 2 and in the Big 12 They've got everything in front of them, including their two biggest tests remaining on this schedule in their own backyard of Salt Lake City. They'll have the Houston Cougars in a couple of weeks. Got to take care of Colorado in Boulder here upcoming this weekend. And then the holy war against BYU in the first week of November. And as you know, BYU, kind of a big game they've got this weekend at home hosting the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
No, it's not a conference game, but it will go a long way in deciding what that track from the Big 12 could look like, not only for a conference title birth, but also in at large into the college football playoff. A one loss, Utah Ute team, let's just say Dave, a one loss happens in that Big 12 title game. Can you leave a one loss, Devin Dan Peer led, Wayshon Parker running offense out of the big dance? I don't know about you, but everybody in Utah feeling very optimistic. Your chaos candidate for the Big 12 are the Utes of Utah.
Dave Ross (4:19)
Don't worry about it, gents. The next year we won't have to have that conversation when they go to 24 Okay, my next chaos candidate, it's another left-hander down in Atlanta, not Michael Pennex.
