This is VSiN By The Books, on VSiN, the eSports betting network.

Top of the hour, it is VSiN by The Books, Dave Ross, right here at the mid-gaming hall, Franklin, Kentucky. There's our closer, Jensen Lewis, back home in Cleveland, Ohio. Have you recovered fully from you just turning back the clock? You and Michelle, you're going out to Vegas, you're going to concerts.
Have you settled back in to Jensen Lewis body clock back in Ohio?
**Jensen Lewis** (0:36)
I needed a nap yesterday. The first time in a while, I needed an adult nap after the body clock and whirlwind travel. Listen, as always, thank you to Mike Palm and Derek Stevens for putting us up there, taking care of the room, and making sure we had the great place to stay.
It's great to catch up with a handful of our colleagues. It's always the toughest part of the trip, Dave, is you want to try and see as many people. At the same time, we had a couple of commitments we had to take care of. Then yeah, we took the first bird out on Sunday, which was 1130 local time. We got back fairly decent, 630 Eastern. But it's 330 to us at that time. So you're trying to come down, trying to sleep. We gotta get ready for the show. And then yeah, let's re-rack it and let's go to Motley Crue on Monday night at Blossom Music Center, which was again, an insane show in its own right. They're at the bitter end, man. If this is it, I'm just glad we saw them when we did.
But yeah, yesterday finally got about an hour adult nap. And I think we're right back, finally right back to normal, just in time for us to start losing sleep again, as soon as week zero and week one get going here the next two weeks.
**Dave Ross** (1:53)
I had one of those this weekend too, from the beginning of the end of last week with family and friends coming in town, and some unexpected as well. So I needed that Sunday nap, not just watching golf as I like to do. So I took that one as well, Jensen. So two grown adults having to take some naps here to catch up, but for a very good reason and a whole lot of fun. It's been chaotic so far in college football. But that's for sure, that's where we begin our number two with our highlights and headlines.

Help your bottom line with today's highlights and headlines.

During our show yesterday, SEC came out with a little statement. It was kind of mealy-mouthed, if you will, a little bit about what they're going to do. Then the Big Ten really came down with kind of an affirmative, hey, this is not going to be acceptable here. Basically, in short, if you're playing trying to play pro ball and you're on a roster for the NFL in the preseason, you cannot come back in college and play college football. SEC then took some sterner language and actually passed the law as well for the SEC. At least the Big 12 will find out today, Jensen, as to what they're going to do if they're going to follow suit. But it does seem like very quickly, and this is what we talked about 24 hours ago in the program, that the powers that be in college football are saying enough is enough.
**Jensen Lewis** (3:09)
Yeah, the Big 10, and I'll read directly from their statement. The Big 10 Conference announced Tuesday the unanimous adoption of a conference rule to prohibit football players who have signed a professional contract or on a professional roster at any point or declared for the NFL draft as an underclassman without withdrawing from maintaining eligibility for athletic competition at a conference institution. The conference continues to evaluate potential rules restricting professional athletes in other sports from conference competition. So again, twofold here, Dave, not only what we're dealing with on the college football side, but remember the NBA and the college basketball. We saw this at Will Wade LSU.
We're looking at some guys that have played professionally, trying to come back and be instituted into the college ranks here. So good start by the Big 10 Great way to follow. Not often we see Greg Sankey follow anyone else. He's usually Emperor Palpatine and leads by his own accord here. But I think that's gonna be an interesting reaction from the Big 12, I would assume, that they follow suit as well. And a good job by them getting out in front of this before games get underway here this weekend.
