Hello, everyone. Thank you so very much for joining us. Finally, it's happening. Welcome to the Vrbo town hall. This time, it was the better part of a decade in the making, and a lot of people have poured an enormous amount of energy into it. And we've been keeping you updated along the way. Now, today, it goes live. We're going to take our time and work you through the whole integration, what it is, what it changes, and what it means for you. And if you have to drop off at some point, because this is a massive channel, this is going to be recorded and available on our YouTube channel. And in any case, this is not the last time we'll talk about it. Now, this was a massive endeavor for Hospitable. So massive, we needed a new unit.
On Friday, we reported that six babies of Hospitable's team were born during the development of this integration. And you can trust Hospitable to be moving fast. That number, shared on Friday, is already out of date. So today, it took seven babies, because June 10th is now also the birthday of a brand new Lennon Zane, 2.6 kilos, with excellent timing. So, all our congratulations to Paula for the newest addition to our family. Now, that's the best measure of how long we've been at the development of this integration and how much we cared about getting it right while getting it as fast as possible.
Now, today, we are launching our Vrbo Partner Connection, the best way to integrate with Vrbo for all short-term rental operators.
We have a packed agenda. This time, it's going to be special, and we're going to go through everything we can, and we'll take your questions. We'll answer what's happening with Vrbo, what's staying the same, what's going to be different, what is hospitable payments that we'll be talking about before, what can you do today, and also, in true hospitable fashion, what comes next.
But before any of that, there is something happening today.
This is a new comprehensive partnership with Vrbo, and we're proud of it because we earned it. There are two things in particular that make this integration unlike anything else in the industry.
One, we have built this on top of Vrbo's newest set of APIs, which most of the industry has not touched yet. That's what allows Hospitable to do a fully self-serve onboarding, which simply does not exist anywhere else in this space. That means a faster connection to Vrbo with a higher integration quality for our customers. Second, and you've already talked about this before, we are the only company in this industry with its own in-house merchant-of-record product, not just payments, and we've been running it for direct since 2021 That experience is exactly what Vrbo trusted us with this new integration, and we built all of this into experience to one standard. We want to be the best software-connected experience on Vrbo, period. So we are raising the bar with what it means to be integrated as Vrbo for everyone in this industry. Now, to open this new chapter properly, we want to introduce you with someone. Now, Vrbo is not an abstraction, and behind it are people, and one of them fought to get this over the line for you. Gavin Gray is the global head of connectivity account management at Expedia, which is Vrbo's parent company. He's been in this industry for quite some time, and he's been a strong advocate of hospitable, for hospitable behind the scenes for years. We're not in the habit of inviting people to those tunnels. Nobody from corporate asked for this. We invited Gavin because we could not do this presentation without him. This integration took years of work from the team at Hospitable, but it also took years of work from the team at Vrbo, and Gavin was a tip of the spare.
