Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the very first episode of the VisionQuest review series. I am Snow Travis Tressnell. I'm joined by...
Taylor Field (0:15)
A good guy, Taylor Field.
Travis Tressnell (0:19)
A good guy. There we go, ladies and gentlemen. We are here to talk about, as I said, VisionQuest. Technically, it's Episode 1, but we're going to be talking about Episode 1 and 2 We will do an overall non-spoilers thought because we had a couple of people in the Discord. I saw and see, hey, I canceled my Disney Plus and I'm not watching this. And I think there's a lot of people nowadays with the Marvel stuff that are maybe a bit more hesitant, right? Because I feel like there's been some big highs, some very low lows and a bunch of in the middle. So usually, we just jump into spoils once we get into the shows. But for this, we'll do non-spoilers.
So yeah, and we'll be here, should be here every week. I think they did the next two weeks. Also two drops, and that's like seven and eight. So thank you to Marvel for just always mess up the calendar and the schedule, and I had the whole month planned. But here we are, we're talking about it. Hopefully, in the future, we'll have Dylan and Kirkland join us. But you never know. Again, you never know what will keep us.
Taylor Field (1:12)
It's hard. If you're not there for the first one or two episodes, it's hard to catch up and get into it for the reviews.
Travis Tressnell (1:19)
Well, especially for, they're dropping at four now.
If you're starting next week, there'll be four episodes you got to watch. Oh, yes. Yeah. But Kirkland was, what was it? He was planned. He was going to be on Wednesday. Well, yeah, but he was supposed to be on this one for Wednesday, but then Marvel changed it around. But Tillerfield, what are your thoughts on the first two episodes of VisionQuest? Obviously, in a non-spoiler fashion before we get to the spoilers for this first episode.
Taylor Field (1:44)
Non-spoiler fashion. This show fucking rocks, man. I am loving this show. I mean, initially when the show was coming out, you're like, okay, yeah, I'm interested to see what's going on with SnowVision after WandaVision, of course, it's been a long time. You get that first trailer, I'm like, okay, yeah, it's okay. You get the next trailer, I was like, okay, I got some excitement now. There's some juice here. Now finally getting into that first episode, it did not take long to hook me in. Just to pick up where we are in the story, what's going on here.
The first episode does a really nice job at showing off the aesthetic and just the environment that they've created. I have to say, if I was to work on a movie set or a film set of some kind, I feel like this would be such an awesome set tour. I don't know the scale between CGI and practicality.
Travis Tressnell (2:36)
I was going to say, I don't know how much is there for a lot of it though.
Taylor Field (2:39)
But that's true. But I feel like just the props and stuff like that, there's a lot of cool things in here like the Visionometer.
They're using the name around just to create fun little props and things like that, just that kind of stuff. But then they introduce you to a few other things in the narrative that are just affiliated with Vision. I thought, this is freaking awesome. I really, really love this because it just feels like a great homage to like Iron Man or like Tony Stark, and just a bit of that legacy and just all the different movies that we've progressed with Tony Stark and his technology and all that kind of stuff. I just think this is just with Stark Industries. I love this.
It's hitting for me. It's hitting so well. That first episode was great. Second episode, I loved it. I thought it was fantastic and it ended. I thought, man, I just want this to be a binge watch. I hope binge watch. I want to go and watch the rest of these episodes because it was just super fantastic. And I'm just on like a high with this show. Like it was great. It was really great. And oh my gosh, I'm drawing a blank right now. James Bader. Thank you. Yes. Oh man, fantastic. He was just he was he was he had so many lines and so many different like just moments that I was very much enjoying, very much enjoying. I don't think there's a character in here that I really haven't enjoyed. And I feel like we've really just seen like people just really kind of bring their their A game so far.
