The Auburn offense seems stuck in the mud and a lot of the conversation centers around the play of quarterback Byrum Brown. But are these criticisms fair?

Welcome on into the Auburn Express powered by The War Rapport. Turn us on, turn us up. We'll definitely turn it out all aboard. It's got Ike Jones today talking a little bit more about the quarterback situation for Auburn. If you're watching this video, please go ahead and share it with somebody. Be prepared to leave your comments down in the comment section. I know some of you are gonna comment just because you see the title of the video or the thumbnail and you're not gonna listen to what I'm saying right now. But, rock with me for a second, man. I got something I wanna talk to y'all about in terms of this Byrum Brown situation at quarterback.

Comments all over the internet are saying he needs to be benched and he's not getting it done and his performance has not delivered on things that they said it would. And, I'll agree with that last statement. I thought that Byrum Brown was going to be playing better than this. And, I think a fair question is being asked as to whether or not this offense that has not been leading or has not been living up, that's the word I wanna use, living up to the expectations that have been set out there in terms of, you know, the explosiveness and physicality and all of those things. Is Byrum Brown a part of the problem or is he, are his struggles a symptom of something else deeper with this offense?

And, I do think that people who are ready to see someone else at quarterback are doing so because of the frustrations that they have, particularly with his ability to take care of the football, seven interceptions, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions and then he had fumble versus Tennessee, that's not good. Right, there's no way to paint that as a good thing. Taking care of the football is a primary responsibility of the quarterback. We'll talk about the interceptions in just a moment. But then the other portion of that is the number of sacks that he's taken so far this season. And not all of them are just because the offensive line is doing a poor job in pass pro, right? Some of them are Byrum Brown's holding on to the ball too long and not taking off running when he should, or not getting rid of the football when there are opportunities to do so. So he does deserve criticism as not doing everything that he can do to remove himself from that conversation. He's centering himself in that conversation because he continues to have the issues that are there. In terms of the interceptions, I said I was gonna circle back to that. He's got seven interceptions on the year. Three of those came in the Baylor game, and two of them came versus Tennessee, right? So five of his seven were in two games, and...
