Your heart can tell you a lot about your health. Apple Watch Series 12 measures your heart rate every five seconds with the most accurate heart rate sensing in a wearable. So your vitals app, now with heart rate variability, can tell you when something is off. And your readiness score can let you know when to rest and when to push. Hear the story in every heartbeat with Apple Watch Series 12

The features described are for wellness purposes only and not for medical use. iPhone 11 or later required. Based on Apple conducted study of heart rate accuracy in August 2026, visit apple.com/applewatchseries12.

Kelly Clarkson here with Wayfair. I know holiday magic starts at home and Wayfair makes it easy. They have everything from Christmas trees and mantle decor to outdoor lighting and inflatables that I'll use year after year. Head to wayfair.com today. Wayfair, every style, every home.

SPEAKER_3 (0:46)

Do you hear that? That sound, right? That means that summer's officially here. It means that grown adults just sprint into the street for a frozen dessert shaped like a cartoon. But this summer, Mint Mobile has a better tree. Every plan, including Unlimited, is $15 a month. And unlike ice cream, it won't drip down your wrist or look nothing like the picture.

SPEAKER_4 (1:02)

Does anyone have any cash?

SPEAKER_3 (1:03)

Give it a try at mintmobile.com/switch.

SPEAKER_5 (1:06)

Up front payment of $45 for three months, $90 for six months, or $180 for 12 month plan required. $15 per month equivalent to taxes and fees extra. New customer offer for initial plan term only. Greater than 50 gigabytes may slow when network is busy. See terms.

Sam Altman of OpenAI, Dario Amodea of Anthropic, Clément Delong of Hugging Face, and researcher Yoshua Bengio are sitting down to brief the United Nations Security Council on Artificial Intelligence and Global Security. Oh, and Chinese company DeepSeek is also invited.

SPEAKER_7 (1:31)

Yeah, which is, I mean, you normally see diplomats and generals walking into that specific room, right? Like the Security Council historically manages global military conflicts, border disputes, geopolitical crises.

SPEAKER_6 (1:43)

Hard power stuff.

SPEAKER_7 (1:44)

Exactly. Hard power. We are talking about weapons, international embargoes, enforcing international law. So, you know, seeing software developers and researchers briefing that council, it really alters the whole context of what we are actually dealing with here. Yeah.

SPEAKER_6 (1:58)

And you really have to ask whether these companies are genuinely seeking international oversight to protect the public from the systems they're building, or if they're just rushing into that room to write the global rules themselves before someone else does.

SPEAKER_7 (2:11)

Right. And that tension sits right at the center of the proposal OpenAI is pushing right now. They are asking for a United States led international coalition to establish common technical standards for frontier models.

SPEAKER_6 (2:24)

Led by the country where they are headquartered.

SPEAKER_7 (2:26)

Yeah. They want a coalition to figure out exactly how to evaluate the most advanced systems in the world. And the focus is highly specific. They're targeting systems capable of automated research.

SPEAKER_6 (2:36)

We're looking at agentic models here. So systems that can conduct their own iterative testing, form hypotheses and execute complex sequences of actions without a human sitting there, you know, clicking a mouse to approve every single step.

SPEAKER_7 (2:50)

Right. An agentic system operates on high level goals. You give the system an objective like finding a novel chemical compound that binds to a specific protein and the system just goes off to work. It writes its own code, runs simulations, evaluates the failures, adjusts its approach and keeps working for days or even weeks.

SPEAKER_6 (3:08)

And the standards being proposed are entirely focused on evaluating that specific upper echelon of capability. So to sell this idea of a self-regulated or hybrid regulated framework, the industry relies on comparisons to other fields. Like they point to the way building codes dictate housing construction. Or they reference the Motion Picture Association ratings for film.

SPEAKER_7 (3:31)

They also bring up FINRA, the Self-Regulatory Organization for the Securities Industry. And they talk heavily about UL solutions, which develops safety standards for hardware components, like lithium batteries. The UL solutions comparison comes up constantly.

SPEAKER_7 (3:54)

So with the UL solutions thing, the process is straightforward, right? Before a lithium battery goes into a consumer electronic device, it goes through a predefined gauntlet of physical tests.

SPEAKER_6 (4:04)

The testing facility puts the battery in a thermal chamber to apply extreme heat.
