Well, it is the time of year, Dan, when people do those wicked little things called New Year's Resolutions. They resolve to do all kinds of wonderful things to be better at things that they have always intended to do. And one of the main things, one of the most popular of all resolutions, is the resolution to save more money. But that's not always easy to do. You have to remember to do it. You have to think about squirreling things away. You have got to figure out where you are going to invest your money. It can be a trick. It can be very messy. And all of that difficulty can result in you not actually saving the money that you intended to save.

The Walls of Jericho came tumbling down a number of times long before any historical Joshua could have existed and that was because of battering rams and siege ramps and torches and not because of the Ark of the Covenant, the blast of a ram's horn and everybody yelling really loud. Hey everybody, I'm Dan McClellan.
Dan Beecher (2:33)
And I'm Dan Beecher.
Dan McClellan (2:35)
And you are listening to the Data Over Dogma podcast, where we increase public access to the academic study of the Bible and religion and we combat the spread of misinformation about the same. How are things today, Dan?
Dan Beecher (2:49)
I'm doing better than you are.
Dan McClellan (2:51)
Yeah, that is not difficult to do. But yes, you are doing better than me. I am trying to get over something. It wasn't COVID, but might have been the flu or something like that. I've been hammered.
Dan Beecher (3:02)
We postponed this recording as long as we could to give you as much time to recover as possible. And you're still not there yet.
Dan McClellan (3:10)
Not 100%.
Dan Beecher (3:11)
So if this show goes a little short or whatever, hopefully our kind listeners and viewers will cut us some slack.
SPEAKER_6 (3:20)
Yeah.
Dan McClellan (3:22)
Once we edit out all the coughing fits, it's down to 14 minutes or so.
Dan Beecher (3:27)
Give us a break. What happened? It said it was 60 minutes. What are we doing here? All right. We got a fun show. I'm excited about what we're going to be talking about.
Look, we've mentioned him on the show before. Some of our listeners may know that there was a guy named Noah in the Bible.
Dan McClellan (3:47)
This is King Noah from The Book of Mormon, right? Who we're talking about.
Dan Beecher (3:51)
Yes. Exactly.
We're going to talk about the flood narrative. We're going to talk about the Noah stories. Yes. I say stories, not because it's multiple stories sequentially, but because there's multiple stories at the same time happening. And I think that's going to be fun. We'll call that one a Bible versus Bible segment. And then at the end of the show, or our second segment, we're going to do a chapter and verse, and we're going to talk about those famous fabled walls of Jericho.
Dan McClellan (4:24)
And which went tumbling down.
