Introducing Meta Glasses. You have questions, they've got answers.
Hey Meta, what's the capital of Peru?
**Mark Duffield** (0:08)
Lima. How do you say, where's the restroom in Spanish?
Dónde está el baño?
**SPEAKER_1** (0:14)
Hey Meta, is a hot dog a sandwich?
**Mark Duffield** (0:17)
Technically, no.
**SPEAKER_1** (0:18)
Spiritually, yes. Hey Meta, what should I do with my life? That's one of life's biggest questions. What do you think? Ask anything with the new Meta Glasses.
Howdy, shoppers. Fire up that propane grill and settle in for a new season of Hulu's hit animated series, King of the Hill. Hank and Peggy are staying active in retirement. That's a dog.
**Paul Heath** (0:39)
You will not have to lift a finger.
**SPEAKER_1** (0:41)
Bobby and Connie hard-launched their relationship. Now that we're dating, it's important your parents know I'm a man. And the alley guys are, well, they're still the alley guys.
**Mark Duffield** (0:50)
Yep.

Somewhere in Western Australia, Matt Young is very happy.
We've played the bit of music he loves from the Pissed Idiots, and it's time for some questions and answers on the show today. And of course, that is brought to you by the great folks of New Age Caravans WA. Big adventures start with bigger savings at their Cannington RV Centre. Paul Heath.
**Paul Heath** (1:28)
Duff, yeah, shout out to Matt Young, but also shout out to Nick out the back as well. He's a lover of it. Yeah, he happily played twice as well.
**Mark Duffield** (1:33)
Giving us the thumbs up.
**Paul Heath** (1:34)
Yeah, he's giving us the thumbs up.
**Mark Duffield** (1:36)
He's giving us the Ross Lyon nose rub.
**Paul Heath** (1:38)
Oh, that's rude.
Nice young man, usually. Luke was first off the rank today, saying, Mark, is it time for West Coast to get serious and chase either Nathan Buckley or Horace Longmire for its head coach?
**Mark Duffield** (1:51)
Don't assume that the bloke who is the more experienced coach is the better coach. I think Andrew McWild has done a good job as coach of West Coast. Now, have they shot the lights out?
Has the coverage of them been a little bit favorable because we're coming off low expectations? Probably. They're coming off a one-win season. They've won four. They have a chance to win one or two, I reckon, more before the end of the season. So we're kind of looking at them glass half full rather than glass half empty. But the thing I like about Andrew McWalter is that it is not the method that's letting the team down. It's the execution. And that comes back to inexperience, comes back to poise, and it also comes back to getting to a point, maybe one, two, or three years down the track, where your list is better developed and better equipped to take on the challenges that you're going to face at AFL level.
I mean, John Longmire is a Premiership coach. So if John Longmire rang you up and begged you to coach West Coast, you'd have to give it serious consideration. But I don't see that happening.
I wouldn't have seen him considering the job when it was offered to Andrew McWalter. A lot of coaches said, well, would we take that position? Andrew McWalter jumped on the hand grenade, took on the rebuild. He went through a really tough year last year. He's doing better this year. I think if they're smart, they'll leave him unsigned into next year and see how he goes. And provided the build continues and provided the improvement continues, then he gets a contract extension at some stage next year to take the club further forward. I think people who are infatuated with coaching reputations need to understand, the next great coach always comes from the ranks of the assistant coaches. Always. And if you go back and look through time, Alistair Clarkson had been an assistant at Port Adelaide when he was appointed at Hawthorn. Jason Dunstall, who did a very smart thing, he was faced with the prospect of having to decide whether he would or wouldn't hire people like Gary Ayres and Rodney Ead, who were proven AFL coaches who had played for Hawthorn. And he said, no, we're going for the young bloke, the untried bloke. And guess what? Four premierships later, Jason Dunstall absolutely and completely justified in that decision. Adam Simpson at West Coast, taken from the assistant coaching panel at Hawthorn, from alongside, alongside Clarco. Justin Longmure at Freemantle has the Dockers three games in percentage clear at the top of the ladder. Justin Longmure was the assistant coach to a number of people, notably and including Adam Simpson at West Coast and Nathan Buckley at Collingwood. The next great coach comes from the assistant coaches ranks. Chris Scott came from the assistant coaching ranks at Freemantle. So don't be infatuated with big names when it comes to appointing a coach.
