Yeah, so he's confirmed to teammates this morning that he will conclude his AFL career following next week's final home game of the season against St Kilda at the MCG. He's played 189 AFL games for the Tigers, selected at PIC 67 as a mature-age draftee from Swan Districts in the 2015 National Draft.

So does that not really close the door for any playing performance for West Coast, but still keeps the door ajar for perhaps an assistant coach or mentor sort of roll down the line?

Yeah, I would have thought so. And also maybe come back and play waffle and be a senior player in the waffle and an on-field coach. I reckon that you wouldn't rule that out either.

Just because you hang up at AFL, you wouldn't rule out playing at the next level. Yeah, next level down. Yeah, fair enough.
Taki from Riverden has given Andrew McWalter the endorsement. So he's got that one on his side at the moment, does mean he? The team has improved. Andrew McWalter should be coaching in the long term. He has my backing, says Taki from Riverden.

So yeah, I wouldn't say long term.
I think we need to see what Andrew McWalter does with the team next year. I wouldn't be signing him on a contract extension at the end of this year, but I do think he's earned the right to coach in next year.

Greg, who is a lawyer, says West Coast supporter, always, Weekend's effort was shattering. Hope the boys disregard the AFLPA directions and put in extra training over the break and get ready for next year. West Coast list management, to look at Backman and only Backman for this year's draft or trade, but don't sell the farm, says Greg.

Take the best player available with your first pick in the draft.
The key back post is a problem, but you can find one player for a specific need, but what you can't find is three or four A-graders. So the best player available with your first pick at the draft, try and find another A-grader regardless of where that player plays. If that player's a forward, take him. If that player's a defender, take him. If that player's a midfielder, take him. Best available with the first pick.

No name on this one. It's a shame about Waterman's accuracy, because he is otherwise having an insane year. Number one for scoring shots in the league, number four for score involvements. Well, whilst playing in the bottom side, he's a beast and still vastly underrated.

He's a very good player. I don't know that he can be underrated. He's been an All-Australian in 2024
He just needs to empty his head out over summer and start afresh. Make sure he's doing the things that made him a good kick before, when he kicked 53-23 in 2024 Go back to them and try and get some runs on the board and some confidence early next year.

Because as you say, it's an outlier, because every other year he's been more accurate in front of goal. He's kicked more goals than behind, so then this year, for seemingly other reasons, it's gone the other way.

And I do think that because they're playing the way they're playing, and it was a good question that Goss got me to ask Danny lately about them coming in wide, which means they're taking shots from out wider. And I do think the next evolution for Harley Reid, and particularly now that he's got Willem Dursma alongside him, and hopefully there'll be another one coming in as well, is that when you get out and clear, and Harley does, that's something he does as well as any player in the AFL. He gets the ball from the inside and gets it to the outside and gets clear, gets his belly button pointed at the goals, lower your eyes and hit her forward on the lead up, and give them an easy shot, and let them kick a few from 20 or 30 out directly in front, get their confidence up, and then they're more likely to kick the 50-50 ones.
