This is True Crime Tonight.

Hello, this is True Crime Tonight. I'm your host, Meshel Laurie. I'm here with my producers, as always, Matthew Tankard and Ruby Bartzis. Hello. Are you going with Matthew Tankard or Matt Tankard at the moment? Yeah, let's go Matthew. Matthew. Let's get serious. Okay. All right. I like that. Not Maddy T. That's a bit not serious enough for crime. A bit breakfast radio or something. It is. We'll save that. We could have that.
When we're doing breakfast regionally sometime in the future. Why regionally?
Ruby Bartzis (1:01)
I want Mancho.
Meshel Laurie (1:02)
Oh, well, we all do love, but you got to start. Let's shoot for the stars. You got to start, you know. You got to get your stripes.
Ruby Bartzis (1:06)
No, you've been there. You've got your stripes.
Meshel Laurie (1:09)
Yeah. Well, we'll see. We'll see. I like you. I like your moxie.
I like your attitude. But we at the moment are here every Sunday night all around Australia from six till seven to bring you true crime stuff. Now, obviously, this is a true crime show, so it's not suitable for kids or anyone who's a bit of a softie. Like oftentimes your husband or your dad or someone like that might say, I can't listen to this. I can't.
Ruby Bartzis (1:31)
Yeah, it usually is the men, hey?
Meshel Laurie (1:32)
It is men.
Ruby Bartzis (1:33)
Yeah, women love this stuff.
Meshel Laurie (1:34)
Apart from you, Matthew, you're very tough. Thank you. A lot of men can't do it. So be alert and alarmed if you have a child or a man in the vicinity that this is a true crime show. Coming up later this hour, we'll talk to Amelia Oberhardt. She's a journo with Channel Nine, and they have such a good documentary. It's on nine now, which we can all stream for free. It's called Outback Murder Highway. Since 1970, 11 people have been reported missing or murdered along the Flinders Highway. And this documentary is fantastic. And they go through some case studies and tell us the people they're still looking for. So that is coming up later in the show. We're going to listen to a listener. And I have a new documentary to tell you about. That's so good. That's all coming up tonight on True Crime Tonight.
Around Australia, this is True Crime Tonight. Hello there, I'm Meshel Laurie. We've got Matthew Tankard and Ruby Bartzis with us. And we have a documentary recommendation coming up. It's about love scams. And it's I know we think, yeah, yeah, I get it. Someone pretends to love you and they don't on Facebook. And then they try and get money out of you. But this documentary is the most educational I've ever seen in terms of how this really works and who these scammers really are. And it's a great, great doco. So I'm going to tell you about that soon. But first, we're going to hear a message from a listener. This is my favorite thing on the True Crime Hotline. Matthew, can you remind us how we leave messages on there?

Let's listen to this week's.
Amelia Oberhardt (3:03)
Hi Michelle, Matt and Ruby. Love the show, by the way.
Meshel Laurie (3:07)
This week I heard that Tupac's killer has been announced.
Ruby Bartzis (3:10)
I thought it was Biggie Smallsall this time.
Meshel Laurie (3:14)
So who actually killed him? Tell us.
Ruby Bartzis (3:16)
God, what a great message.
Meshel Laurie (3:18)
Coming in hot. It was coming real hot and I love that. And I love we're just saying men can't handle true crime, but that one can. That one can. He's into it. But also he sounds like the sort of bloke who would spend a bit of time wondering what ever happened between Tupac and Biggie.
