Pooya Zand Vakili (0:15)

Hello, everybody, and welcome back to the We Know Traitors podcast over here on RHAP.

We are here to talk about Celebrity Traitors UK Season 2, Episode 3 I'm your host, the Duke of Deception, Pooya Zambekele. With me, as always, is my co-host, the Pharaoh, Flap Flap. Here to break it down, Annabel, welcome back in. How are you doing?

Annabel (0:35)

I mean, I'm fired up. I saw something I never thought I would see in my life, which was James Blunt fully rigid in the shower with a disposable hairnet shower cap. I am potentially deceased.

Pooya Zand Vakili (0:55)

Interesting. That's what that's what you chose to open the show with. Is that B-roll?

Annabel (0:59)

I mean, for me, that was the standout moment of the entire episode. Am I wrong? Like the shower scene is famously, we always get one murder B-roll of shower scene.

Like, you could have given me six guesses and I don't think I would have said James Blunt. And even if I had, like is that the most iconic and disturbing shower scene we've ever had? Yes.

Pooya Zand Vakili (1:26)

I feel like you would have said Ross Kemp five times and then said James Blunt for your sixth guess is my assumption.

That is what I think you could have done. Yeah, listen, we're doing an episode, a recap now moving forward. And I think there was a decent amount of stuff in this episode for us to parse through. I fight, I'll be honest, I completely forgot we were gonna open with a round table vote. I did not, I forgot we got cliffhangered last week. If I had, Richard had left the game already.

Annabel (1:53)

Yeah.

Pooya Zand Vakili (1:54)

So, which by the way, let's get the graphic up also to have that accompany people as we get through everything here.

So, by the end of the episode, Annabel, we had two banishments, zero murders. That's where we are at the end of episode three.

Annabel (2:12)

But we do have the same number of traitors. So love that for them.

Pooya Zand Vakili (2:19)

Yes. So, we last week in some of the predictions and conversations we had, we landed on the idea that, all right, well, it's obviously Richard leaving. They're probably going to want to seduce, which means Gerri and Hannah are tiny, tiny, tiny short list isn't going anywhere.

Annabel (2:35)

We did. And you know what? I was so smug. I was counting my chickens before they hatch. Because when they're up there in that conclave and they're like, oh, I think it should be Bella. I mean, maybe Hannah or Miranda, but wouldn't Bella be a great choice? I'm like, oh yeah. Gerri still got it. Genius.

No, no.

Pooya Zand Vakili (3:00)

Listen, you have to cook. You got close. It wasn't the whole thing, but you got close. Yeah, interestingly enough, they decided after Richard's departure, they came up with this short list. And the short list, like you said, had Hannah, Bella and Miranda on it.

It's seemingly, and we can talk about this, Annabel, I think that the celebrity traders specifically, UK specifically, they clearly want to play the game with, the traitors are not looking to be complete scumbags. They're actively looking to recruit the best possible person to be in the turret that would do well, which is interesting because they've thought this, and I don't know if they genuinely thought she was going to do well. I'll say this, I thought she was going to do well.

They pick Hannah, and then for the rest of the episode, all I can do is worry that they've doomed Hannah for this game.

Annabel (4:05)

I think Hannah was doomed anyway.

I mean, I agree that they're not looking to, everyone's looking to get along, right? Everyone here has a multi-million-dollar reputation at stake. We're not going to go on TV and fight with some of Britain's most beloved people. We're just not going to do that if we can avoid it. So, we're always talking and laughing about how when they're voting each other out at their roundtable, they're like, I just, I love and respect you so much. It's you, you're a Traitor, and so the tone is going to be the same when they're recruiting. I think Hannah's doomed anyway. The moment that Gerri, well, I think always the fact that she was so conspicuously smart and intelligent and wonderful meant that she was never going to make it to the end anyway. But I think when Gerri doomed her to be on that shortlist of two, she either dies immediately is the obvious choice or she survives and everyone questions for the rest of the game why she survived.
