Time for Take 5 And as always on Monday, it is about the midfielders. And there was a very influential group of midfielders this weekend. Starting at the top, number 1 Errol Goulden just continues his stellar form.
Free Manor were actually able to stymie his influence a little bit, but the numbers are really impressive. 36 disposals, 8 tackles, 5 clearances, 770 metres gained, 4 score involvements, 3 intercept possessions. Number 2 Deep from in the pocket at three-quarter time. So this guy, I think, was the best player on the grounds on Friday night. Hayden Young. A goal, 28 disposals, 7 tackles, 4 clearances, 326 metres gained, 7 score involvements, 3 intercept possessions. And if Fremantle win the flag and no one kicks a remarkable goal next week, he will be remembered for the most famous goal in Fremantle Club history. We need a bust of his left foot, I'm worried, I think, after that. Number 3
Caleb Sarong.
28 disposals, 10 clearances, 625 metres gained, 8 score involvements, 10 inside fifties. Just doesn't give up.

Hugh McCluggage. So I tossed up between Hugh McCluggage and Will Ashcroft, and the thing that got Hugh to the line for me was 3 goals 2 as a midfielder. So 3 goals 2, 23 disposals, 6 tackles, 447 metres gained, 2 goal assist, 8 score involvements and 6 inside fifties. Did a little bit. And number 5 Josh Ward. Very nearly won this match for Hawthorne. He was absolutely magnificent, particularly in the last quarter. 25 disposals, 9 tackles, 11 clearances. Including 3 decisive ones in the 4th quarter. 464 metres gained, 4 goal assists, 7 score involvements, 5 inside fifties.
And I will run you by Will Ashcroft's stats because they're worthy. A goal, 28 disposals, 8 clearances, 554 metres gained, 2 goal assists, 10 inside fifties and 10 score involvements. He loves September. I wonder if he was born in September.
I'll have to have a look at that. Yeah, how much he just goes so well with it.
