We're going to take five action, and we've got the midfielders today, four games to choose from. And there were some very good performances. All right, we'll start. It'll be harder next week. Two games to choose from. There'll be stars everywhere. Number one, Will Day. So really happy for this bloke. He was very emotional about it after the game. He was a tearful person, embracing his coach and his teammates. Twenty-four disposals, three marks, two tackles, eight clearances, five inside fifties, five score involvements, seven intercept possessions.

A stellar finals debu for Will. Number two. Luke Jackson. I thought that early in the game was almost him and Jordan Clarke versus Hawthorne when Freemantle were really struggling. He kicked a goal. He had twenty-two disposals, six marks.

How many hit outs? Twenty-six hit outs. Six clearances, five score involvements, three intercept possessions, and another strong game from Luke. Number three. Errol Goulden. Absolutely stellar for the Sydney Swans against Brisbane. If you didn't catch the third quarter goal, have a look. It's as good as any goal kicked in any game of AFL football this year. A goal, thirty-four disposals, four tackles, eight clearances, nine hundred and fifteen metres gained, ten inside fifties, eight score involvements, six intercept possessions. Number four. Isaac Rankin. I think the player of the last month in the AFL, two goals, thirty-four disposals, four tackles, seven clearances, seven hundred and eleven metres gained, five inside fifties, and fourteen contested possessions. And number five. Bailey Smith. Twenty-seven disposals, six tackles, three clearances, nine inside fifties, eight score involvements for the Cats. And an apology this week? Yeah.

Roe Bottom.

James Roe Bottom for Sydney. Lost his first name there. That's all right. You got it. A bit of a mental blank.

So only the thirteen disposals, but did the stop job on Lockie Neal. Laid seven tackles, won seven clearances, and absolutely epitomised the Sydney Spirit.

Take five Tuesday, which means it is the forwards. And my goodness, didn't one game produce a plethora of outstanding performances from forwards.

Paul Heath? You almost could have put all, yeah, all of them from that one to make the top five. Just about. Almost made all of them, yep. Number one. Nick Watson, The Wizard. So he only kicked two goals, two, but he was the fire starter in the Hawthorne forward line. Brandon Walker. I didn't think Brandon Walker was the problem for Freeman. He wasn't the solution either. He struggled to keep tabs on The Wizard. So The Wizard, two goals, two, nine end disposals, 447 metres gain, two goal assists, five inside 50s, and nine score involvements. A brilliant game. Number two. Patty Dangerfield. We've got American journalists eulogising Patty Dangerfield after watching him play the one game, but five goals won, 21 disposals, 485 metres gained, a goal assist, 10 score involvements, and a big say in the outcome of the Geelong Carlton game. Number three. Logan McDonald. So this might have been the performance of a forward at the weekend. So he not only does the business on Harris-Andrews, the key to the Brisbane defence, but then he goes and kicks six goals too as well. It's a career best effort, probably a career best effort by a long way for Logan. 15 disposals, seven marks, 365 metres gained, 10 score involvements, and a massive say in the outcome. Number four. Tom Pappley.

Tom is that player that you would love in your team, and you would not love if he was in another team, but he had a brilliant game as well. Five goals won, 16 disposals, 459 metres gained, 10 contested possessions, four goal assists, and 13 score involvements. That's very nice. And number five. Charlie Kerner. So he announced that he was on by taking a one-handed hanger in the first quarter of the match, and then he proceeded to just light it up for the entire match. And I think Brisbane went in a bit short in defence, and they paid the price for it, because Curnow, MacDonald both had big games, and Hayden McLean even bobbed up for three goals as well. So Curnow kicks five goals one from 13 disposals, six marks, 452 metres gained, eight score involvement for inside 50s. His best finals performance in his career. And an apology? Yeah, Josh Ruscelli was close. Only Josh. Three goals two, and they were big goals as well. At important times for the Adelaide Crows, 14 disposals, and he is going to have to shoot the lights out if they are going to threaten Brisbane at the Gabba this weekend. Yeah, always next week, Josh. You can make the top five. Time for take five today. We've got the Defenders up and about. No surprising, there'll be a couple of Hawthorn blokes in this. It's a shame, isn't it? It is a shame, especially starting at the top. Number one, James Cicely absolutely controlled and dominated the game. Could have done with him gobbling off after the siren. Funny how hypocritical the Hawks can be. They squealed like stuck pigs about Kenny Hinkley, and then did it themselves. But what a great game by the Hawks skipper. 26 disposals, 10 marks, 579 metres gained, 12 intercept possessions. Did a number on Paddy Voss. We'll see you again. Number two. Jordan Clark, I thought he was the best of Fremantle's players on the night. 38 disposals, 11 marks, 549 metres gained, 8 intercept possessions. Number three. Josh Battle dominated his clash with Josh Tracy, basically made the Fremantle trump card an absolute non-factor in the game. Did push him in the back a number of times, I would say. 10, 12 times, yep. Yep, but 10 intercept possessions, 16 disposals, 5 marks, 2 contested marks. Number four. Tommy Stewart. A key to Fremantle beating Geelong will be making sure that Tommy Stewart is kept under control. He was very good against Carlton. 11 intercept possessions, 20 disposals, 7 marks, 411 meters gained. Number five. This one was probably the best defender across the AFL finals in week, well, let's call it week one, given that the coaches are saying the wild card games aren't finals. Josh Worrell, 34 disposals, 14 marks, 497 meters gained. 19 intercept possessions. That's a few, isn't it? 19 How many total possessions did he have? 34 Okay, that's a few. Yeah, that's fair enough. Apologies. Harry Cunningham, Sydney, played really well.
