It's five o'clock somewhere, which means the Happy Hour Bar officially open. It's the pregame lounge, Matthew Berry, Michelle Beatle, Star, Fonny Bell in the house.
Michelle Beisner-Buck (0:21)
I love it.
Matthew Berry (0:21)
Mohassan is in Buffalo somewhere.
Michelle Beisner-Buck (0:24)
Somewhere. Parts unknown.
Matthew Berry (0:26)
We'll find out.
Stephania Bell (0:27)
Thanks, Mel, for going and shuffling off to Buffalo so I could sit in the lounge. You know, it's Happy Hour. It's when I show up.
Matthew Berry (0:33)
This is actually correct. No one loves her wine like Stephania. Make no mistake. By the way, Mae KOK in the in the Discord just says, Beatle is probably getting a restraining order against every Spider-Man, every guy in a Spider-Man costume.
Michelle Beisner-Buck (0:48)
What?
Matthew Berry (0:49)
Why? So anyway.
Michelle Beisner-Buck (0:50)
No, I'm just kidding.
Matthew Berry (0:51)
Anyway.
Michelle Beisner-Buck (0:52)
It's creepy. Okay, sorry.
Matthew Berry (0:54)
Anyway.
By the way, joining us today, so a little bit of a change, but again, with a happy hour, we're going to get to news. Stephania's got a bunch of injury updates for us as well. But joining us right now is my friend, fellow fantasy manager and NFL insider for ESPN, Dan Graziano. There he is. He's in the multiple fantasy leagues. He's got a kid in college. He has to talk to the Jets later today.
Dan Graziano (1:17)
I know one graduated. Yeah. Good job. All right. There you go.
Matthew Berry (1:20)
No one likes to braggart.
All right. All right, Daniel.
Dan Graziano (1:25)
Just I'm trying to keep track. Okay. There we go. Let's get right into it. Yeah.
Michelle Beisner-Buck (1:29)
He just did mention the Jets and you are covering patch Jets. We've got the Trevion Henderson situation, which we thought was going to be multiple weeks with an ankle sprain. But then in practice, what's going on there?
Dan Graziano (1:41)
Yeah. He's been able to practice, limited practice the last couple of days. So we're going to get a Patriots injury report on Friday, usually comes out here in about the next 10 minutes. So we should have some sense of it.
They said at the time that he's a quick healer. I didn't think that many would practice on Wednesday. But obviously not being there and not having media able to watch the whole practice, it's hard to have a sense of how much he's doing. The important thing to remember is they have a game on Thursday next week. So it's conceivable that they have him out there practicing to see whether he could be ready for that one. It's also conceivable he could play this week. I would say, you have an injury expert on there with you. She could speak more to this than I could. But if it really is a high ankle sprain, it feels far-fetched for Sunday.
Even if he did play, I would think that they'd lean pretty hard on Ramondre Stevenson, which they're very happy to do. But yeah, it's an indication that if they are without Trevion Henderson, it won't be for very long.
Matthew Berry (2:42)
Yeah, I mean, I think it's a positive sign here. I'll speak to Ramondre Stevenson. I haven't had a top 10 play this week. Even I agree with you that even if Trevion Henderson plays, feels like this is going to be a big Ramondre game against the Jets defense. It's 25th against the run over the last four weeks. Again, last time Henderson was out, 23 touches, 85% of the snaps in week one for Ramondre Stevenson. In the three games in his career where he's gotten at least 15 touches this season, three games this season where he's gotten at least 15 touches, he's averaging almost 17 fantasy points per game. Stephania, you are an injury expert. He was referring to you, not Beatle.
Michelle Beisner-Buck (3:18)
Thank you.
Matthew Berry (3:19)
Where are you on Trevion Henderson?
Stephania Bell (3:21)
Well, here's the thing. I think this brings up the larger point, which is that not all high ankle sprains are the same.
Matthew Berry (3:29)
Michelle, how many times have I told you that?
Stephania Bell (3:31)
So many, I can't think now.
Dan Graziano (3:32)
Exactly. That's all we talk about.
Stephania Bell (3:33)
I think we'll make the assumption, and it's fair, that high ankle sprains typically are more significant than low ankle sprains, right? They're going to be more problematic more of the time because of where the injury is and when you put the demand on the ankle, especially any kind of twisting or cutting, it tends to be harder on a high ankle sprain. But you can have a very mild high ankle sprain where there's no structural damage. You've just sort of tweaked kind of over stretch the ligaments and you recover really pretty quickly. You can back in a week or two. Wow. Now sometimes when you start doing activity, part of the reason for getting him into practice, like damage, it might just be able to see like how much can he do? How does he respond after a day of practice? And setting it up potentially for Thursday, not really for this week. We'll see. But remember AJ Brown, his teammate goes on IR immediately after the injury. Much more serious high ankle sprain. Trevion, they say, well, they don't need surgery, it's going to be less serious, and he's back practicing in a few days. So again, just a reminder, it's always a spectrum, it's why we treat these injuries individually.
