Chronic Migraine. 15 or more headache days a month, each lasting four hours or more, can make me feel like a spectator in my own life.

SPEAKER_3 (0:21)

Botox. Anabotulinum Toxin A prevents headaches in adults with Chronic Migraine. It's not for those with 14 or fewer headache days a month. It's the number one prescribed branded Chronic Migraine preventive treatment.

SPEAKER_4 (0:32)

Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor. Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. Alert your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue, and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms, and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, including ALS Lou Gehrig's disease, Myasthenia Gravis or Lambert-Eton syndrome, and medications including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects.

Tracy Lawrence (1:18)

Hello, everybody. Welcome to TL's Road House. Special guest in the house, Ms. Lauren Watkins is here with us today. So good to see you again.

Lauren Watkins (1:26)

So great to see you. Thank you for having me. I'm like, I can't believe I'm here right now.

Tracy Lawrence (1:30)

So I know you've opened for me once, twice.

Lauren Watkins (1:33)

I think so. Like, I don't know.

Where were we? Probably?

Tracy Lawrence (1:37)

I don't know. I know what I'm told.

SPEAKER_1 (1:41)

Like, have I?

Lauren Watkins (1:42)

I don't even know. I feel like maybe at a festival or something.

Tracy Lawrence (1:45)

Probably so, because we've played them all. We've played them all over the years.

Lauren Watkins (1:49)

I'm so starstruck, though. I'm so excited. I can't believe you wanted me to be here.

Tracy Lawrence (1:53)

I'm like, I'm nervous. You know, it seems like you are a native Nashvillean, which used to be a very rare thing for people in the music business, but you got Mitchell Tenpenny and there's so many people that are in the business now that were actually from Nashville. What part of the town did you grow up in?

Lauren Watkins (2:09)

So I grew up in Oak Hill, which is fancy now, but it was not fancy when I was growing up.

Tracy Lawrence (2:14)

What's Oak Hill close to? Is it on Brentwood side?

Lauren Watkins (2:17)

It's sort of, it's like almost to Brentwood. So it's sort of like tucked in between like Green Hills and then Forest Hills, I guess would be the next thing. So it's like south of town.

Tracy Lawrence (2:29)

But you've been here long enough to really see Nashville change in the last 10, 15 years too.

Lauren Watkins (2:33)

Yes, I feel like I've earned my right to say that I've seen the change.

Tracy Lawrence (2:37)

So from a local's perspective, what are the pros and cons that you've seen happen in the last 10 years?

Lauren Watkins (2:44)

I mean, the pros are that it's like from the outside a lot cooler to live here. Like I never thought there was anything special about being from Nashville until I went to college and everybody was like, you're from Nashville, that's so cool. And so then I kind of had a sense of pride, but the cons are it is just way too busy and it's so crowded and it's the land of the bachelorettes now.

Tracy Lawrence (3:08)

The woo girls. The woo girls, yes.

Lauren Watkins (3:11)

It's just, I am, I don't know, I am not, I get very overwhelmed by the big crowds.

Tracy Lawrence (3:20)

I tell you, the thing for me that makes me the most sad is when I came here in the early 90s, music row was its own little special thing.

Lauren Watkins (3:27)

Yeah.

Tracy Lawrence (3:27)

You know, you had all the old houses, the publishing houses and the record labels and the recording studios and the demo rooms and all that stuff. And it was like we had our own little town in the middle of this big old city.

And you know, we travel the alleyways and we, you know, charts would come out on Mondays and we would all gather up and go to different publishing houses. You know, everybody knew where everybody was. If somebody was in the recording studio, I'd pop in and see Chestnut when he was cutting or some of my buddies when things were going on. And now it's just another part of the city. It's just not the same anymore.
