Welcome to Thursday Night Betcast with Keyshawn Johnson and Patrick Meagher, right here on VSiN, the SportsBetting Network.

Patrick Meagher (0:21)

All right, we can take a breath, and we're gonna look at the week one board as we welcome you back, Thursday Night Betcast. Hope you're enjoying the game.

I'm told by Corey that the Jonas Brothers are performing at the break in Melbourne, Australia, so Keyshawn's excited. He's Keyshawn Johnson. I'm Patrick Meagher. This is the Thursday Night Betcast. Hope he's excited about the Jonas Brothers. We're live on VSiN, the SportsBetting Network. Simplecast on Mad Dog Sports Radio. We're gonna be here every single Thursday. We got to get into the game, the second half number.

But just how are you feeling? I want to set this up because all the experts at VSiN took the three and a half with the 49ers, and Keyshawn said, you'll see, you'll see. He laid the three and a half with the Rams.

Keyshawn Johnson (1:06)

You know, I still feel good. It doesn't look right. But I also understand it's the first game of the year.

It's gonna be slow.

The mistakes are gonna happen. But in the end, the veteran quarterback in Matthew Stafford will get it turned around because in that locker room, they're making adjustments. And Sean McVeigh is one of the best coaches in the National Football League in second half adjustments. We've seen it time in and time out where he's been in situations down at halftime, come out in the second half, go right down the field when they get the football and score. Although the 49ers are ones who are getting the ball, the defense has now got to stop them. You can't allow them to get any more points on the board before you have an opportunity to score. So we'll see what happens. But I feel good. I'm not in a panic, nervous situation right now based on where I took them at minus three and a half at the start of this thing. I still feel good where I sit.

Patrick Meagher (1:58)

OK, well, let's take a look at the adjusted number right now. Your second half line. So again, for new betters, if you just want to bet the second half, forget the rest of the game. Rams are a point and a half favorite. The total is twenty three and a half. The end game, the live wager right now, live number is the 49ers laying a point and a half. The total is forty and a half. It might be something interesting to look at that total because we've got seventeen points, ten seven 49ers at the break key and the total for the game in game is forty and a half.

Keyshawn Johnson (2:32)

I would still, I still feel like it's going to be over that forty and a half. I don't think it's going to be under because the Rams have to go back in at half time. They have to make these adjustments. They have to know the mistakes that they made. What happened to running the football and doing the things that you did to get the points that you got on the board with Williams and Company and Crom and Company doing it with Blake. They did that in the first half to a degree in the first quarter or so. They got away from that. For whatever reason, they got away from it. I don't know if it was because of the protection. They felt that they saw something there that spooked them or whatnot. They'll clean it up.

As far as the 49ers side go, if they continue to keep doing what they're doing and not creating silly turnovers and just methodically moving the football down the field and putting themselves in the scoring position, then they'll get points on the board and the Rams won't.

Patrick Meagher (3:23)

Okay. I want to run the week one board with Keyshawn here, give you an idea of what Keyshawn's seen as far as the numbers in week one. But let's back up to move forward and talk about what we saw last night, kind of a sleepy opener in Seattle. The offenses were terrible, but you had Drew Locke after the Darnold injury pull out a win. May, that's probably the worst I've ever seen May play with what? Three fourth quarter picks.

What do you take away from both the Patriots and the Seahawks moving forward?

Keyshawn Johnson (3:52)

Well, obviously, I love the Seahawks defense, right? Moving forward, their defense is what that team is all about.

The quarterback and Sam Darnold have missed some time, he'll be out. But can Drew Locke be 500? Can he, whatever that is, I don't know if he'll miss four games, six games, whatever, but can you split that down the middle? And if he can do that, then they'll be in good shape. If Sam Darnold's gone longer than, let's say, a month, then it gets real kind of murky for the Seattle Seahawks because I don't know what Drew is as a full-time, long-term answer at the quarterback position at this stage in his career. I know being run out of Denver and things of that nature, people automatically assume you give up on a guy, but you don't give up on a guy who was drafted where he was drafted at, and you don't give up on a guy who really is getting a second opportunity to be in charge and do some things with a defense like that, and players surrounding around him on the offensive side. Far as the New England Patriots go, it's a blow to them to lose their prize trade pick in AJ Brown who got injured last night with an ankle injury who missed some time as well. Can the New England Patriots get Romeo Dobbs going down to Romeo Dobbs and be pushed into the number one wide receiving spot with AJ Brown missing time? Those sort of things are things that Rayval and McDaniels have to think about when in their coaching meetings. How can we get Romeo Dobbs' confidence up? Can we utilize him in certain ways? Now, they'll have plenty of time and time off to do it based on the game that they played last night, so they'll get some extra days to prepare for their next opponent. And we'll see. I'm still pretty bullish on the Seattle Seahawks with Drew Lockett quarterback opposed to bullish on the New England Patriots with no AJ. Brown.
