Today, we're going to be looking at Herder, which is a powerful way to run multiple coding agents in multiple sessions, and it's a free open source project. So you can see an example of how it works in action right here. We've already built it into our agentic operating system, which I'll come on to in a second. And this is actually really fun to play around with, very intuitive as well once you've set it up. And this is based on a request from Manuel. So you can see here, Manuel started using Herder and was using multiplexing with agentic engineering, was asking for a tutorial on how to do this. He posted inside the Airpods warding. I was like, yeah, let's do that. Let's create a tutorial for Manuel and everyone else who's watching stuff like this. So let's get straight into how to use Herder, how it works, and how to start using these sessions.

So first of all, how do you install Herder? Well, you can get it on GitHub. It's an open source project. And once you've got the link here, you can set up using the instructions here. But for me, these days, I don't really like to go into terminal and all that sort of technical jazz. So what I like to do instead is I'll get the information from GitHub, as you can see right here. Then we're gonna go into our favorite coding agent. For example, I've got GPT-6 Astra over here. And then I've said, can you set this up? Can you build it into the Agent OS? And you can give me some example use cases of how we can use this, right? Reason that I want the agent to set it up for us is so that I don't have to configure it manually and everything else. The reason that I ask it to build it into the Agent OS is so that I can make the systems already have more powerful instead of having like a separate tab to go into, right? So for example, here we have the Agent OS set up with different templates and systems already to go with Herda as a dedicated tab inside there. Why do we do that? Because it will save us time, and then we don't have to open up another tab or remember terminal commands or anything like that. It's just good to go and it's ready to go, right? And then finally, for use cases, the reason that I said is because basically, your AI agent knows and understands you better than at this point, better than I understand myself, to be honest. So the reason that I use Codex to give me use cases is because it works with me every day, it sees what I will spend my time on, and then it can give me personalized use cases. And if you use the same prompt inside your AI agents, it will help you figure that out too.

So once you've done that, you're then going to have heard a set up. Now I've set up inside the agent OS, which I think is probably the best way to use it. If you want to use it inside terminal, let me show you how that works as well. So you can see an example right here. So we've got it inside terminal, and you can see them with all these different agent integrations. So Codex has already configured a few for me, like OpenCode, KeylethCode, Hermes, Coda CLI, Quen, and Claude and Codex. So we can use our integrations already, and we can switch between these, as you can see right here, right? Pretty easy and simple to flip between them.

So we've got like this session right here, and we can click apply, and we have Herder, as you can see. So we can actually control our agent OS like this. But for me personally, I think it's even easier to understand and use a better way, simplified way, using this system right here. So what I could do is I can select from the drop down, and Chipsix Astra built this for us. So I've got the agents that I can switch between. So for example, like Hermes here, I can give it a task, for example, like, can you come up some SEO keywords for me based on what I've been working on recently? And then we can hit start agent like so, and we can start using Hermes inside Herder. So just to recap, there's two ways you can use Herder, right? Number one is inside an agent OS system like this. Number two is inside the terminal over here. Now, if you use the terminal over here, it doesn't look as clean and it's beautiful, and also most people are pretty intimidated by the terminal.
