Welcome back to another episode of Acquisitions Anonymous, presented by Acquisition Lab. Today, we talk about a business that is near and near to my heart, a roofing company in Houston, Texas. This is a $10 million top line business doing about $500,000 a year in free cash flow. And it's an interesting dynamic because the seller is trying to sell 51% of the business. We talk about the roofing industry, which I could nerd out on for days. And we talk about some kind of situation-specific things with this that lead us to believe it's a residential business, more than a commercial.

We talk about a lot of the different dynamics in residential services, construction, financing a business like this, something like this where you're buying a majority of the business, but not 100%.

Banking dynamics. It's a great episode. I hope you enjoy. Stick around after a quick word from our sponsor.

Bill D'Alessandro (0:56)

Hello, another episode of Acquisitions Anonymous.

Michael Girdley (0:58)

We don't have 100% beers anymore.

Heather Endresen (1:01)

Thumbs downing on just the Plus Inventorial.

Bill D'Alessandro (1:05)

Hey everyone, it's Bill, and I want to talk to you about Quiet Light Brokerage. I was so psyched when Quiet Light agreed to sponsor the podcast because I am a customer. I have used Quiet Light to sell three businesses, and if I were selling an e-commerce or SaaS business, I really would not consider anyone else. Like I said, I went back to them three times. I worked with three different brokers at Quiet Light, had a great experience all three times.

Even on one occasion, they found a buyer for a business that I just didn't know it was even going to be possible to sell. So they have pulled rabbits out of their hats several times for me.

Just they've been in the e-commerce and SaaS business brokering game a very, very long time. They really know what they're doing. They have great reach with both buyers and sellers. And the other thing I really love about Quiet Light is all the brokers there are former operators. So you can't just show up and go, hey, I'm a lifetime business broker. I want to work at Quiet Light. You have to be a former operator. So they all know what it's like to be in the operator chair. So if you go to quietlight.com, they have free business valuation calls, which they'll do with you. No obligation. Just tell you what they think about your business, what they think it would be worth, and then what you might need to do to kind of get it ready for market. Those guys over there are great, great SOPs, great systems. I just felt like I was really in really good hands all three times with Quiet Light.

If you're interested in selling your business, especially in e-commerce or SaaS, hop on over to quietlight.com, fill out their onboarding form for a free valuation call, and you can tell them Bill or Acquisitions Anonymous sent you.

Just so our listeners can know, I clicked record the moment Mills accused me of being drunk.

Mills Snell (2:38)

Not being drunk, just drinking.

Bill D'Alessandro (2:41)

Yeah.

Michael Girdley (2:43)

Well, maybe I'm just acting drunk.

Mills Snell (2:45)

All right.

Michael Girdley (2:46)

Who here has two thumbs and has been sitting on a roofing deal until Mills showed up for an episode?

Bill D'Alessandro (2:56)

Last several episodes that you weren't here, Mills Michael was like, we got to do the roofing deal. Mills isn't here.

Mills Snell (3:02)

These are my favorite deals to poop on.

Michael Girdley (3:06)

I'm sure it'll be great. Jordan, welcome back.

Bill D'Alessandro (3:09)

Good to be back.

Jordan (3:11)

Hey, let's do it, roofing.

Michael Girdley (3:13)

Yeah, let's do it. You want to give a quick 30-second introduction of yourself and then you and Brad can join in. May, we got six hosts today. I don't even know if I'm going to get to do all the talking this time, Heather.

Jordan (3:26)

Yeah, sure.
