But let's grab our Bible's Revelation Chapter 3 tonight. We're going to be continuing in our series, The Revelation Of Jesus Christ. So grab your Bible's Revelation Chapter 3 And right now, we're going through the churches, but we're going to make our way through, Lord willing, the entire Book Of Revelation. So buckle your seat belts. And we do need to have an understanding of what is coming. That's why God has given us. And there's a blessing that is promised to those who read, and hear, and heed the warnings and the encouragement and the blessings that are given in Revelation, Chapter 3, or excuse me, all the Book Of Revelation. But let's find our places. Revelation, Chapter 3, Verse Number 7 tonight. We're going to cover one of the letters that Jesus wrote to his churches, a church in the city of Philadelphia, not Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but the city of Philadelphia there in ancient Turkey, basically Asia Minor.
And so let's pick it up, Verse Number 7, Chapter 3, the Bible says, To the angel of the church in Philadelphia, write, These things sayeth he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and no man shutteth and shutteth and no man openeth. I know thy works. Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it. For thou hast a little strength and hast kept my word and hast not denied my name.
Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews and are not, but do lie.
Behold, I will make them to come and to worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will also keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly. Hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. He that overcometh, will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is New Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit sayeth unto the churches. This is a letter that is one of those good letters. There is not a condemnation. There is not a charge against the church there in Philadelphia. There is blessings, there are exhortation. We dealt with Sardis last week where God had nothing good to say about his, or excuse me, a couple of weeks ago, where God had nothing good to say about his church in that city because they had a name that they were alive, but they were dead. Okay, but isn't it wonderful, just because something is going on over here doesn't mean it has to be true in our life, that each one of us can serve the Lord. And so here's our title tonight. There are open doors for those who are faithful. There are open doors for those who are faithful. Let's pray and ask the Lord's help. Dear Heavenly Father, we do come before you tonight. Lord, I ask that you would work, that you would encourage us, that you would help us. I pray, Lord, for just your power and your spirit. I pray that you would open doors in our hearts and in our understanding.

We often use the term open doors or just the idea of a door as a reference to opportunities, to an opening to be able to accomplish something. Okay? I caught just a couple of minutes of the Giants game this afternoon, and they were there. They were up by six points, and the other team, I think, was the Cardinals, were there. They were there right in the red zone. They were right. And if they scored a touchdown, the Giants would lose. And the proverbial statement was, for once, the Giants actually slammed the door on the other team because it ended up with a pick six, and they ran it back the other way for a touchdown. So the phrase the commentators would use is, their defense slammed the door. They closed the opportunity and they sealed the win, right? That's the way that we would use.
So a door can either be open and there's an opportunity, or the door can be shut and you're not getting through. Now, in our society, there's several, and there's literal ways, there's several ways that doors can be opened. Just thought about this for a couple of minutes.
