Welcome to The Niche Is You. My name is Matt Gottesman, at Matt Gottesman on Instagram, and this is my daily podcast where I create short, quick hitting episodes to help you uncomplicate life, creativity, and the pursuit of your highest self. There's only main character energy here. Now let's get into it.

Welcome to episode 884 and the continuation of the relaunching of older classic episodes from a few hundred ago. The work you're afraid to share is probably the work that matters most. I think we can all attest to this. At some point, there's work that you want to release, and maybe you're like, no, that I don't want to or I can't or more so nobody wants to see that. And often at times it's probably the exact work you should be focusing on. Appreciate you guys. Enjoy the episode.

Welcome to episode 534 The work you're afraid to share is probably the work that matters most. There's a gut check for you. The work you're afraid to share is probably the work that matters most. And I think this is a very important conversation to have because whether it's perfectionism, whether it's, oh wait, that's something completely different than I was thought I was going to do with my life or, oh, like I have all this work that I'm hoarding and I want to actually put it out there and I'm scared to share it. I don't know what people are going to think. It's interesting because the resistance is such a signal that it's probably the work most needed by the world. And I know that that seems counterintuitive, but I have always found that to be true. We're worried about something because it's a vulnerable share or it's putting yourself out there and it's all these things. And maybe it almost feels uncomfortable because it's maybe not labeled the traditional route or the traditional way of doing things or the traditional anything, which is funny because we preach individuality, right? We all want to be an individual and sovereign and be our own person and all of these things, right? But we have to also play that way as well.

So as a reminder, I want to talk to you guys about the work you're afraid to share is probably the work that matters. Most. Now, you might have that piece of work, that thing that you wrote or maybe you recorded or the story you lived or something that feels maybe it's just too raw, too deep, too real. And then it's possible you save it in the drafts, right? And maybe even like, oh, I mean, I'm preparing for it. I'm going to just keep polishing this thing and getting it ready and ready and ready and ready. Waiting for the right time, all these things. Those are also, that's also resistance points, right? The work you're most afraid to share is probably the exact work someone else is praying to find. That's the reframe. You hadn't thought about that.

There are people out there praying for work only you can do.

That's the reframe.

And when you think about it like that, it becomes less about your fear and more about helping and answering the call and making it bigger than you. And the longer you play it bigger than you, more confidence you will have because you'll actually also be in your humility.

Confidence and humility can live in the exact same place. In fact, the humility gets through the work and keeps pushing to places you could never have gotten before, which is what produces the confidence. The work you're afraid to share is the exact work someone else is praying to find. That is a very seriously beautiful thing when you think about it, right? I've had one of my favorite compliments, one of my favorite compliments daily on Instagram is, this is what I need to see right now. It hits me every time if you're one of those people that say that to me on my wall, or if you start saying that to me, I'll know that you listen to the podcast. If I give the little eyes emoji and just to let me know like, yeah, or the ear, like, I heard you, I heard you. But it's true, it's like when you say like, this is just what I need to hear. And the fascinating part is I usually do my best to pray over each post before launching it because it's my writing, and I want to know what is the world need? Not what do I need in that moment, what does the world need? And so it's fascinating process. And when people say like, this is exactly what I needed right now, I'm like, wow, that's how God moves through people, you know? So why is it that the work that scares you, usually the work that resonates?
