Witchy women (and women in general) have historically had a tough go of it. Wes delves into just how unfair things got for those accused of hitching their wagon to Satan, no matter how tenuous the claims turned out to be, even if they weren't human at all.

Something you might not know about me is I'm a bit of a broth connoisseur, and I really thought that there was just no way you could get really quality broth from anywhere else besides making it yourself. And that's why I'm really excited to tell you guys about Brodo. Brodo bone broth is the simplest nutrition upgrade you can make to your daily routine. Their broths are made from scratch. No concentrates, no preservatives, no shortcuts. So you get the best possible broth money can buy. My favorite is the chicken bone broth. I've always been partial to chicken broth, and theirs is just the perfect mix of different spices. It's so delicious. I just absolutely love it. I've been having it for meals as a snack sometimes when I'm craving something that's maybe less healthy for me. I just replace it with some really nice Brodo in a cup. It's very comforting. It's perfect for fall and winter. And it's the best broth out there because it's made the traditional way with only real ingredients and lots of time. And everything simmers together for hours and hours for maximum flavor and nutrition.
Brodo doesn't cut corners like other broth brands out there. And Brodo comes in 11 delicious flavors, from classic chicken to spicy nona, to creative blends like ginger turmeric. I really recommend trying their sampler packs so you can figure out which is your favorite for yourself. Shop the best broth on the planet with Brodo. Head to brodo.com/tooth for 20 percent off your first subscription order and use code Tooth for an additional $10 off. Hello, everybody. Welcome back to an episode of Tooth and Claw Podcast.
Jeff Larson (1:53)
This is a Halloween podcast where we talk about spooky animals and Wes is a wildlife biologist, so he also loves horror movies as much as anyone. I do. So that's a perfect area for him to be in, is animal horror movies.
Mike Smith (2:15)
Yeah.
Wes Larson (2:16)
Thanks for that intro.
Jeff Larson (2:19)
We have Mike Smith and I'm Jeff Larson.
Mike Smith (2:22)
That's all I get? What the heck?
Wes Larson (2:24)
I think I balked at that I love horror movies as much as anyone because it is horror movie season. I've been getting into it and I've like followed some Instagram accounts.
And there are people out there where it is like, that is their only thing is horror movies. It's kind of intense how crazy people get about horror movies, but they're fun. I get it. It's a release.
Jeff Larson (2:46)
It's even crazier the people who like do the stuff that movies are about.
Wes Larson (2:51)
Yeah.
Jeff Larson (2:52)
This time of year.
Wes Larson (2:53)
Yeah.
Jeff Larson (2:54)
Like serial killers and killers and witches.
Mike Smith (2:56)
Like putting a dirty needle in an apple for trick or treaters.
SPEAKER_2 (3:01)
You never done that?
Mike Smith (3:03)
Drugs.
Jeff Larson (3:04)
If someone gave me an apple, I would not fall for it. I would not be eating the needle.
Mike Smith (3:09)
You'd eat around it.
Wes Larson (3:10)
Just putting like a couple hundred dollars of-
Jeff Larson (3:12)
No, I wouldn't eat the apple at Halloween. That's a waste.
Mike Smith (3:15)
Okay. Whatever.
Jeff Larson (3:16)
Mike.
Mike Smith (3:18)
Yes, Jeff.
Jeff Larson (3:19)
You look like a president who was president for eight years in a row. Your hair.
Mike Smith (3:23)
Bill?
Jeff Larson (3:25)
No, Obama. You remember those pictures of Obama before his presidency and after? Yeah. That's what you look like to be right now. Aged like 70 years. With your gray hair?
Mike Smith (3:35)
Yeah.
Wes Larson (3:36)
I liked it.
Jeff Larson (3:36)
Just went gray on you all of a sudden, huh?
Wes Larson (3:38)
Did you see a ghost?
Mike Smith (3:39)
No, I didn't. Oh, yeah.
Wes Larson (3:41)
Because that can turn your hair gray.
Jeff Larson (3:42)
You got paranormal activity.
Wes Larson (3:44)
Well, speaking of paranormal activity, you guys remember there were some demons in that movie. And guess who demons are sometimes best friends with?
Jeff Larson (3:53)
One kind of.
Mike Smith (3:54)
One time a drawer opened by itself, but I guess we can count that as a demon.
Wes Larson (3:59)
Witches. Demons love witches. There's like a strong connection between those two actually.
And you guys may have noticed there's been an uptick in witches these days, right?
Jeff Larson (4:10)
Because we-
