Oh, I'm doing well. I did go to bed last night, Saturday night, woke up today, Sunday morning. We recorded this on August 2nd.
First thing I looked for is, did the trade go through? And I didn't think it would have in the overnight, for God's sakes, or early on Sunday morning. And sure enough, it did. So I've been thinking about the Dodgers all morning here, and just the flukiness of it all, like how I became a Dodgers fan. A lot of people wonder about that, because I'm known from serious talking about being like a Philly area guy.
But to tell the story one more time, because it's a little wild. 1974, I'm five years old. The New York Mets are the defending National League champions. And I have an older brother and an older sister, eight and five years older, considerably older. So I was picked on quite a bit. And they were just a-holes to me. So I went to my mom and I asked her, I said, what team can I root for? That is the furthest away from the New York Mets as possible. And then she told me, because my mom actually grew up in Manhattan and her father had season tickets to the Giants. So my mom grew up going to baseball games at the Polo grounds. And she said, well, you know, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and you know, it's one thing, it's kind of like Bugs Bunny, not to go off on a tangent here at the top of the podcast. So I apologize for that. But you know, like, I loved Bugs Bunny when I was a kid. Not only was Bugs Bunny from my city, New York City, not only was Bugs Bunny from my borough, Brooklyn, Bugs Bunny was from my neighborhood.
