Welcome in, welcome in to Late-Round Fantasy Football Show. David Kitchen here alongside JJ Zachariason. JJ, how are you?
I'm good. I'm good.
JJ Zachariason (0:42)
It's a backwards hat day. So those of you in chat, set the line forward hat was plus 360, backwards hat was plus 160, no hat was minus 140 Somebody needs to run the analytics and see what is most common on these shows. It's got to be no hat, right? No hat's got to be the most common for me.
David Kitchen (1:01)
I don't know. It's actually, we'd have to separate in data buckets in season and off season.
JJ Zachariason (1:09)
Yeah. You think in season is backwards more?
David Kitchen (1:13)
It's possible. I'm not sure.
JJ Zachariason (1:14)
I don't know if I have it.
David Kitchen (1:15)
Maybe it's flip-flopped.
JJ Zachariason (1:16)
I don't know if there's any difference. I will say that I've probably worn a forward hat like five times on stream.
It doesn't have, because the way my head is shaped, it's hard for me to get a forward hat going. But the one Super Bowl hat that we got when we were in San Francisco back in February, is a forward, it can be a forward facing hat for me.
David Kitchen (1:39)
I forgot about my, it's somewhere, I've got like all the hats just stuffed in a little nook.
JJ Zachariason (1:48)
Yeah.
David Kitchen (1:48)
So I can't imagine going to a job where I had to wear, like I could not wear a hat.
JJ Zachariason (1:54)
Roy says the guy wearing the hat probably shouldn't set the line. I don't know, man. I mean, the sports book sets the lines, you know? They just don't know the outcomes.
David Kitchen (2:04)
Very PM approach is what someone said. Beans, green tomatoes, you win. Too easy.
Welcome in, though, everyone.
We're excited to have you in. We're excited to talk about week three. We'll talk also about some Thursday Night Football reactions. I know some people are thinking we're back and other people are thinking, what have I done to my fantasy team? So we'll talk about that. But right now, JJ, want to just mention to people we have our rankings, we have our Discord, we have now our member Q&A, and this week we started putting the member Q&A that we have on Tuesday nights. That's when you're on the show, answering member questions. Now we're transcribing those and putting them in the Discord on Wednesday morning for those that want to scroll through.
JJ Zachariason (2:56)
Yes.
I mean, look, those live stream Q&A's, I'm not saying, this is not hyperbole. I think I answer 150 questions a week on those. So if you are a member, you're already seeing that. There are times where I, as a solo person doing that, get frustrated because the same questions pop up, or they're asking questions that the rankings can answer. But that's beside the point. One of the things that members love is when I go on rants, and when I, not tilt necessarily, it's more of like-
David Kitchen (3:29)
Sometimes it is tilting.
JJ Zachariason (3:31)
Sometimes the members enjoy the tilt. Yes. It has become more of a bit than anything else. But a lot of it though, there is at least one or two instances every single live stream, where I rant about a topic that just organically pops up. And I say, okay, I live this past week, I ranted about trades. And I do it once a year, probably like four times a year, where people often are like, hey, who should I trade this cell candidate for? And the answer is, find a team that needs that kind of position, that kind of player, because every valuation is going to be a little bit different. But yeah, it's a good time every Tuesday, eight o'clock.
We have a good time.
David Kitchen (4:14)
Yeah. And people in the chat saying it's passion. Passion. We don't say rants, we say passion.
JJ Zachariason (4:19)
I will say a lot of people, I've gotten this for years and years, this kind of criticism, critique, whatever you want to call it, that my voice can be annoying and that people can't listen to The Late-Round Podcast because of that, it feels like they're getting yelled at. Some people feel that way. This is just the way that I was made. And then also, I am passionate about this stuff. And I think that you're doing a solo show, you need to bring a little bit of extra fire to the table. But also, genuinely, this is the way that I, when I am having conversation that's heated and interesting, and we're trying to, I mean, I get energized by it. And I love this stuff. I love digging into it. I love presenting the information. I love talking through it. I love the back and forth that we have in Discord, all of that.
