All righty, folks, I have a extra special treat for you this Sunday morning. We not only have friends of the channel, featured speakers at the upcoming ORAT event year four in Vegas, but also now published authors. Yes, David and Morgan have recently published Building Options. We're gonna talk about this book, and if you pay attention, there's even a kid's book that we will talk about momentarily. But David and Morgan, I wanna talk about Building Options.

As somebody who has written books and frankly not enjoyed the process, I'm always pleasantly surprised when somebody in my world writes a book because it's a very tough challenge. So let's start with why the heck did you guys decide to write a book?

David (0:42)

Yeah, I agree with your sentiment, by the way. I give a lot of credit to everyone that writes books.

Just, it's a lot. So we started writing the book. There's so many tactical books out there, how to do the math, how to do cash flow, everything that you could think of. I wanted a book that was a more mindset book, something, I love Rich Dad Poor Dad. It's, I think, one of the best books to start to get your head around real estate. And that's why I wanted to focus, how to get into it, how to purchase your first property. And that was really the driving factor for the start of this book.

Morgan (1:19)

I think that a lot of people often ask us, the number one question is, how did you start? And we found ourselves repeating the same stories over and over again. So we thought, why don't we share our story along the way? And hopefully somebody could be inspired just like we were before we started.

Michael Zuber (1:36)

Yeah, this is why I love being a part of the book, having written the forward for the book, which thank you for that opportunity. I was truly honored to do that. But the reason I love the story is, it is not a tactical book. It's not a how-to book, right? There are already plenty of math books out there. I love the fact that it is your story.

To me, it's like One Rental At A Time. It's like, hey, this is what happened to us. This is the good, bad, and the ugly. And it's written, at least I wrote mine selfishly, kind of as a look back, because I don't look back very well. But now it's come to help people understand that, yeah, you can have a full-time job and do this thing. And you guys have a special story because at least in the book, Morgan, you're a stay-at-home mom raising two amazing kids. And David, you're out there working. And by the way, you did it today. So there's so much around this story that's awesome.

What do you hope people take from it?

David (2:35)

I want everyone to understand that we're not smarter than anyone else. I think the biggest thing that just that I found with everything that everyone does as long as you're consistent, you could be as long as you're consistent throughout this journey. Do 10 years of consistency, you'll succeed every single time. But if you're not consistent, if you don't put in the work, you're not going to get there. It's as simple as that.

Morgan (2:58)

I agree with that.

I feel like everyone looks at us, like in our own world, people that know us, our family and friends, and they're just like, oh my God, you guys, how do you do it? And I'm like, well, do you get up every day and go to work? You have a schedule, you have to raise your kids, you're going to sporting events, you're going to your job. And I feel like it's the same thing everybody else does. You just fit time into your schedule. And I think that's what we did with this book, and we just wanted people to really...

David (3:27)

Yeah, that's well said.

Morgan (3:28)

Just be inspired, I guess.

David (3:30)

I think the other thing is too, I want everyone to understand that you can be a husband, you can be a wife, you can be a father, a mother. You can have two children, you could have 10 children, maybe not 10, but you could have a lot of children.

Michael Zuber (3:43)

But Kevin was seven, that's a lot.

David (3:45)

You can go to sporting events, you can go to all the school activities, you can still do everyday normal life. And we're just as busy as everyone else. And I think that's the biggest point. And that's my driving home message, is that it's achievable for everyone, that everyone can do this.
