Hello, everybody, welcome back to Dynasty Points, talking about our least favorite picks in startups. Last episode, we talked about some of our favorite picks, a few reasons why today, no different. It's not just gonna be the player, it's beyond that. It can be roster construction, it can be the environment, the short or long term outlook. There are tons of reasons to not like picks. I just wanna say that does not mean we think these players, quote, suck.
That's a completely different conversation, and I already know you're pretyping things about your favorite player. Don't worry, there'll be plenty of time for that throughout the offseason. You can, though, leave a comment and let us know who you think should have been on this list and or why we are most definitely in every way wrong about the players that we have all decided to pick today. No better way than to kick things off and to send this over to Jakob Sanderson and your first pick for the worst player at ADP in round one, which is really hard to find sometimes.

**Jakob Sanderson** (1:45)
Yeah, I mean, it's impossible to find a bad player in round one of Startup. So certainly no matter who I would pick here, I'm not going to be speaking ill about the player in a vacuum. But as I mentioned on the Best Picks episode, you know, I basically have the top eight ranked more or less the same as where it goes in Dynasty Startup. So I'm probably going to be looking more at that back four. And the one guy who I can very easily point to and say, hey, I can get this a little bit later, is Amon Ross St. Brown. Because to me, him, Lam and Jefferson are almost identical profiles. They go back to back to back in redraft scenarios.
Amon Ross St. Brown is very slightly younger, but to me not to a majorly meaningful degree.
And while he had the best season last year, the market is essentially baking in with their thoughts on ADP that these three, they project about the same going forward. And we've seen, of course, in previous seasons that Lam has had the better season or Jefferson has had the better season. So I view these three as largely the same. I'm a bit confused why I'm paying almost a full round higher price tag for Amon Ross St. Brown to the extent that he's getting up ahead of guys like Gentie and Love and Neighbors and Burrow and Caleb, that Lam and Jefferson are behind. So I just look at him as the one who doesn't really fit. Obviously, I'm not worried about Amon Ross St. Brown by any stretch of the imagination. If you have him on your team, you have a locked in mid-wide receiver one at worst. You have one of the highest floors in all of fantasy football. So I'm not saying you have to panic sell him by any stretch of the imagination, but I view him as being just a little bit overpriced after, honestly, a long time of probably being a little bit underpriced.

I think Amon Ra St. Brown's price currently just reflects the state of wide receiver in Dynasty. I don't think it's really an indication of his talent or we know the Lions offense is great. I like you said, I don't think there should be this big of a discrepancy. I think you're just paying for the state of wide receiver. It wasn't that long ago. CD Lamb, Jefferson Neighbors, this last year were all around one pick. So there's definitely just been some shuffling. And Amon Ra was the biggest benefactor of that.
I think next year we could definitely see with a bounce back from Lamb Neighbors and Jefferson that it flips completely again. I think you're 100 percent right here, Ryan.

Yeah, St. Brown was also my pick for the worst round one start up pick for largely similar reasons to what Jakob said. I just think the I agree that like his value, his overall profile is really similar to all these other receivers that you can get in round two. I even agree that last year he was very underrated and underpriced. But yeah, now, like when the opportunity cost is a Caleb Williams or Lamar Jackson, where there's with Williams, there's the theoretically much longer time horizon in terms of how long he has to be an elite scoring dynasty asset. With Lamar Jackson, I think there's like a much higher 2026, 2027 ceiling to what he can do. He can go and be the overall QB one. He can average over 24 fantasy points per game. That's like in the realm of possibility for Lamar, where it is not as likely for an Amon Ra.
