See, in the 2003 NBA playoffs, a 13-year-old girl named Natalie Gilbert walked out to sing the national anthem in front of the entire Portland arena. But right in the middle of the song, she froze and forgot every single word. Well, Trailblazers coach Maurice Cheeks wasn't about to let her stand there alone, so he walked right over and started singing with her.
And what could have been the most embarrassing moment of her life turned into one of the greatest sportsmanship moments we've ever seen. Well, 22 years later, Natalie came back and absolutely nailed it with Cheeks watching.
