When it comes to Eve Online, every player wants to know the most effective tactic available. You want to know the meta. The meta controls everything. It determines what will and will not happen. Knowing the meta will alter your views, make you question your reality.
It might even make you laugh. And now, you're part of it. You're watching The Meta Show.
**Keith** (0:52)
All right, good afternoon, everybody. Thank you for joining us for this week's episode of The Meta Show. We got a pretty good, Ajant, I thank you, you're here not to get fined. We got a pretty good episode in store for you today. As the title suggests, we're gonna look at the evolution of Eve Online, and not necessarily from a mechanic standpoint. We've talked about updates, me and Dave have spent plenty of time talking about changes from mechanics, but we're gonna look at the actual landscape of Eve Online. Now, Nolsec, maybe we might get it to Losec a little bit. Losec's a little more linear than maybe Nolsec, and what has changed over the last couple of years. With us today, we've got a special guest, Ellee Mae. Ellee, for those of our viewers who don't know who you are, give us a little insight of what you do in Eve Online.
**Ellee Mae** (1:42)
What's going on, guys? My name's Ellee Mae. I am one of the Recon's for Goon Swarm Federation and a Snowflake. I light Sino's. I put Warheads on Foreheads. Also one of the SIG leaders for BFL. So, you know, just General Jack of all trades, I guess.
**Keith** (1:59)
Yeah, Ellee's got some, definitely has some insight over the years on some of these changes we'll talk about today. So I appreciate you coming on and joining us today, Ellee. As always, it's always fun talking to you and having you come share your wealth of knowledge with our viewers today.
**SPEAKER_1** (2:16)
All right.
**Keith** (2:18)
That being said, let's go ahead and get into it. Kane, my lovely producer, can you put up a picture of our current state of Sov? Let's take a look at what does Sov look like today? And Eve Online, who owns what? Who are the big, big blocks, that kind of thing? Thank you, Kane, for putting that up. And as you can see, the Imperium is thick.
Right? The Imperium is thick. Look at that, Dave. What is going on? It looks like the goons are like the superpower right now on Eve. Is that true?
**Dave** (2:52)
It's kind of what we talked about last time I was on the show. They've made it, Kane, Kamers, they've made it so you can't build tall anymore, you've got to build wide. So first of all, for an alliance the size of Goonswarm, you need to pretty much build wider to be able to fit in what your members want to do. So for instance, goons have the regions chopped up into, you do this over here, you do that over there, to allow people to do it because you can no longer rat and mine essentially in the same system. So we have an entire region of mining upgrades, entire region of ratting upgrades, and then the other regions mix and match to allow people to have room. That being said, the lower two regions are exploration upgrades and general holding because you don't want people sandwiched between you and your allies like that. It's not good for them and it's not good for you.
**Keith** (3:57)
Yeah, no, 100 percent.
**Dave** (3:59)
That's not the official stance on those two regions, but I mean, that's what we should be holding them to when we aren't using them.
**Keith** (4:07)
And one thing I think is notable to as we look at it, we look at the Imperium and just kind of the member states of the Imperium, specifically just how it's broken down. There's a lot of diversity in the Imperium and you have Dracarys, which could be arguably its own alliance in and of itself by itself. Well, I mean, like unaligned, like it has quite a bit of space. It is its own alliance. They're all a Sigma, Dracarys. All these groups are their own groups individually alone. Then you look at Fraternity with WinnerCo and then Initiative really it boils down right now, the current state of Eve into these three super mega blocks, whatever you want to call them with the Imperium WinnerCo initiative. Is there any and Ellee, you're welcome to chime in here like anything on the horizon that we can see or you guys know of that's obviously not sharing OpSec or anything that could drive a conflict between any of these groups.
