The Magnus Protocol 31 - Compartmentalising

Jonathan Sims (0:07)

Rusty Quill presents. The Magnus Protocol.

Episode 31, Compartmentalizing.

Billie Hindle (1:23)

That's Colin, isn't it?

Ryan Hopevere-Anderson (1:25)

Don't touch it.

Anusia Battersby (1:27)

This is a crime scene now. Someone shoved Colin... Someone's severed hand into the server, so we need to phone the police. Right now.

Billie Hindle (1:35)

It's Colin. It's him, I know it is.

Ryan Hopevere-Anderson (1:39)

No, you don't.

Anusia Battersby (1:40)

It could be anyone's severed hand.

Shahan Hamza (1:44)

There's no blood.

Anusia Battersby (1:45)

What?

Shahan Hamza (1:46)

Look, there's no blood.

Billie Hindle (1:49)

Not on his hand, his phone. The entire server rack is clean.

Anusia Battersby (1:54)

So, whoever did it cleaned up after themselves. Even more reason to call the police. They have all kinds of DNA tests and forensic...

Billie Hindle (2:01)

No, you just look, Gwen.

Anusia Battersby (2:02)

I am looking.

Billie Hindle (2:04)

There's cables running through it, and it looks like it's attached right to the electrics.

Anusia Battersby (2:10)

How is it even still working?

Billie Hindle (2:13)

That wasn't just shoved in there by someone. It looks more like it came from inside the...

Anusia Battersby (2:18)

Alice, stop.

Sasha Sienna (2:19)

Please.

Anusia Battersby (2:21)

I'm going to call the police now. I'm going to call the police and tell them what we found, and you're not going to mention your wild theory.

Billie Hindle (2:30)

Gwen, we need to call Lena.

Anusia Battersby (2:32)

Well, Lena isn't here, so...

Billie Hindle (2:36)

Uh, Gwen, you might want to hold off on that phone call.

Anusia Battersby (2:39)

Alice, for God's sake.

Billie Hindle (2:41)

It's gotten.

Anusia Battersby (2:42)

What is? The hand. When did that happen?

Billie Hindle (2:47)

I don't know. Just now. I turned to look at you, and now when I look back, it was just gone.

Anusia Battersby (2:53)

Don't be ridiculous. It can't just be gone. You must have just...

Billie Hindle (2:59)

I don't think the police can help with this.

Anusia Battersby (3:02)

Then what exactly do you propose?

Billie Hindle (3:04)

We call Lena.

Anusia Battersby (3:07)

I am in charge.

Billie Hindle (3:09)

Are you? It's been one night. One night. And Sam's gone, and Lena's gone, and Colin's been eaten by the computer, or something.

Sasha Sienna (3:18)

Don't say that. That's not what happened.

Billie Hindle (3:21)

Then what did happen? Hmm?

Anusia Battersby (3:23)

I don't... What's that?

Billie Hindle (3:28)

It sounded like a beep.

Anusia Battersby (3:29)

Obviously it's a beep. What I meant is...

Shahan Hamza (3:33)

Gwen.

Anusia Battersby (3:36)

I see it. Open it, Alice.

Billie Hindle (3:39)

You open it!

Anusia Battersby (3:41)

You're being foolish.

Billie Hindle (3:42)

If it can do that to Colin, it can open its own damn cases.

Anusia Battersby (3:47)

Oh, for goodness sake!

Anusia Battersby (6:29)

Well, now we know.

Billie Hindle (6:31)

Freddy killed Colin. It killed him.

Anusia Battersby (6:35)

It definitely sounds like the system was provoked, and...

Billie Hindle (6:40)

Don't you do that! Don't you dare do that! It murdered him!

Anusia Battersby (6:47)

I just meant that I don't think we're in any danger as long as we don't antagonize it.

Billie Hindle (6:55)

So what? We're hostages now?

Anusia Battersby (6:57)

No. No, I'm sure we can leave. Um...

Ryan Hopevere-Anderson (7:04)

Freddy?

Sasha Sienna (7:05)

Can we leave?

Billie Hindle (7:08)

Jesus Christ! What happened to you being in charge?

Anusia Battersby (7:13)

I am in charge, and now we've established there is no further risk to staff and that a police response would be inappropriate. And I think it would be best if we take a moment to... to assess the situation and, um...
