This is InvestTalk from KPP Financial, helping investors make sense of the markets one day at a time. And now, here are Justin Klein and Luke Guerrero.
Justin Klein (0:17)
Good afternoon, fellow investors, and welcome back to InvestTalk. This is our Monday, September 28th, 2026 edition.
We have a very special show because Luke is with me. This is what, third, fourth time in the last month or so we've done it together? Something like that? Are you there? Luke?
Luke Guerrero (0:39)
Yeah, I figured I'd start the week messing with you a little bit. Yeah, three or four times in the past couple of months, I'd say we've done it together. We should make more of a habit out of it.
Justin Klein (0:47)
We should. We were trying to. We're trying to. We both have pretty busy schedules, that's why we switch off, but we know our listeners love when we do it together, so we're gonna continue to try to do that a bit more. Now, Luke, there's only a few more trading days left in the quarter. Can you believe that? And then we're on to the final stretch for the year.
Luke Guerrero (1:06)
There are two more trading days, and you just reminded me that my mother's birthday is in two days, so thank you for that reminder. September 30th, happy early birthday, mom.
Justin Klein (1:16)
I wish her a happy birthday for me as well.
All right, well, we're heading on to the rest of the show. We have a great show lined up, a lot to talk about for the next hour or so. We're going to answer your finance and investment questions. We're going to give you data and perspective, develop over decades of investment experience combined between us. But before we proceed, just a quick heads up, the date is getting closer, just under one month away. Be sure to mark your calendar. October 24th, it's a Saturday, and you're invited to join the KPP team and guest experts in our in-person InvestTalk Retirement Summit. The special event is free of charge, but seating is limited, so make sure you pre-register by heading over to investtalk.com. Now, as always, in just a bit, we'll talk about today's market performance and run down the show topics. But first, let's tackle this call to question now.

Love the show. Quick question about WPM, Wheaton Precious Metals period. Seems like a great play without actually boning any miners stocks.
What are your thoughts of Point of Entry? Thanks.
Justin Klein (2:23)
Point of Entry. Well, Wheaton is a name that we've owned for a long period of time. It's been choppy as of late. A lot of the miners that are out there pulled back today right around to the 50-day moving average which does tend to be pretty good support. So this, I think, is a decent support area right now. But Luke, miners in general, I mean, this is a little bit different. It's a streamer, a little bit different than a miner.
But yeah, what do you think about timing on this type of name?
Luke Guerrero (2:54)
It's pretty difficult, right? It's a relatively volatile class of stocks in general because the commodity that it underlies its business is inherently volatile and this is essentially a leveraged bet on that. But because of that, you've seen some pretty great growth from a price perspective over the past couple years when you dive into this company specifically.
I mean, they had a record quarter. They beat consensus by roughly 6%, gave them 74% year over year growth. That was reported in August. Operating cash flow was at $650 million for the quarter. Interestingly enough, you did have that paradox where you get a bit of a beat and maintaining guidance and still the price fell off a little bit. I think a lot of that has to do with structurally how bid up a lot of these names are after the gold run, but for us, we like gold miners, we like gold, we like this one specifically because obviously we hold it in one of our strategies.
Justin Klein (3:51)
Yeah, a couple of our strategies actually. And what KC mainly bullish on the space overall right now is that usually with higher interest rates, gold gets punished severely. Now it's only pulled back, but it's not breaking down or anything like that. And the miners, usually when there's a major rollover in the space, usually the miners sell off first because those are, as Luke said, kind of the highest risk ones and the most volatile. So they're holding up fairly well. And so, like today, I probably would pick it up because if you do get a few months or a quarter where yields pull back, which at some point they will, I think that's when you'll see probably gold reignite. But in the near term, you're still in a choppy period. Now, we had a wonderful show on Friday. We looked into the story about Meta's AI moment, what a potential ChatGPT rival means for the broader AI race. We also answered listener questions on ticker FTI. And if you happen to miss it, go check it out. The best way to get every show is to follow InvestTalk wherever you get your podcasts. Now, Luke, today we have a lot on the docket. Time permitting, we'll get to all of it. Our main focus point is about life maxing. Is it a trap? There's a new survey from SoFi, and 72% of Americans are potentially risking their financial future. We'll talk about why that is, what the long-term costs of that mindset might be, and how to have a balanced approach to, say, for the future effectively, but also enjoy life today.
