We have Marion McKeone and Cal Thomas with us. And Cal, we have Donald Trump hosting at separate times today in the Oval Office, Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, and it's been done privately. What's going on? That there's going to be no show for the public.

**Cal Thomas** (0:33)
Well, Matt, I think there's a lot of reports on this, that Netanyahu is going to be bringing the president some information and some intelligence on the Pickax Mountains in Iran, where Iran has reportedly moved the centrifuges, which it was allegedly using to begin the final stage of building a nuclear weapon. As for Zelenskyy, I think, actually, I think Israel and Ukraine have something in common here, and their visits could be said to be related. Both of these countries were attacked by adversaries.
Ukraine by Russia, which wants more of its land, and Israel by Iran and its proxies, want to kill Jews and eliminate the Jewish state. So I think there are dual and not competing, but similar interests by both of these men.

Okay, but a couple of things there. Let's just start with Ukraine, Cal, before I go to Marion. Is there a sense that there's a shift in the American position in relation to Ukraine and Russia? Because to date, Trump has been a Putin enabler and has treated Zelenskyy with utter disrespect, but is there a sense that that seems to be changing?

**Cal Thomas** (1:56)
Well, it's a good question. It depends on who you talk to. Certainly, various members of Congress have moved from a full support of Ukraine to now questioning that as they have done with the war in Iran. But I think that you've got to have an end game here. Now, most reports show that Ukraine is starting to change the dynamic, especially with its drones. The problem with Putin is that he's wasting all of these lives of his soldiers, tens of thousands, far more than have died with Ukrainians. But you're right about Trump and Putin. He praises our enemies and undermines our friends, including those in Europe. It is just part of his deranged personality, I think.

**Matt Cooper** (2:45)
Okay, Marion, I'm going to go back to Cal about Iran in a second, but just stay with Ukraine and Russia. Do you get any sense that there is a shift thinking, maybe the United States of America has come to, or the White House has come to realize that Russia can't win this war, and that maybe they'd be better off on Ukraine's side as a possible winner?

**Marion McKeone** (3:07)
Yeah, well, you know, there's always been a lot of divisions on the Ukraine issue. I mean, Joe Biden went all in. Well, actually, when I say he went all in, he went all in verbally. He didn't go, he wasn't nearly as helpful as he could have been in making sure that Ukraine got the weapons it needed early. He dragged his heels on that. Lyndsey Graham, who's, we've seen footage, I think, all day of people going to the Capitol. I just saw JD. Vance make his speech, you know, in deliver a sort of a eulogy up on the Rotunda building there.
Graham was all in on supporting Ukraine. Trump and JD. Vance absolutely were not. You remember the mugging that Zelenskyy got. I think it was the last time he came to the White House, or one of the last times, March 2025, when he was really just ambushed by JD. Vance and then Trump as well. They told me he had no cards to play and that basically he better do what they told him.
Now things are very, very different. It seems that Ukraine and their drone technology has been really something that's astonished a lot of people that they're really getting the upper hand now. And Trump is looking at a situation where one of the things Zelenskyy is bringing to the White House today is more evidence that Trump is helping the, or that, I beg your pardon, Russia and Putin are helping the Iranians that apparently they're spotting them places to send targets to and all this kind of thing. So what Zelenskyy wants to do today is to persuade Trump that Putin is working against him. Now whether he'll have any more luck than we all remember Helsinki in 2018 when Trump decided, given the option of choosing between Putin and his own intelligence forces, he decided that he'd side with Putin. So it depends on whether or not Trump believes Zelenskyy today that Putin is working with Iran against America and Israel and whether or not he will maybe give more support to Ukraine. But at the moment, Zelenskyy is looking a lot more like a winner to use Trump jargon and Trump likes to be on the side of winners. And there does seem to be a move more towards Ukraine. We had that lunatic Laura Loomer there doing an interview with Zelenskyy about a week ago and saying that she's converted now. I don't think people should be persuaded by the likes of Laura Loomer, but it's undeniable that Zelenskyy in the fifth year of this war has had more success and seems to be increasingly building up momentum in the right direction, whereas Putin seems to be doing worse and worse.
