Hey, what's going on? Welcome to the 2026 NFL season. Happy opening day. Brian Drake and I are back with another edition of Fantasy Points Podcast. We kind of wrap up the preseason by kind of doing our award show. Not only that, we name all our division winners and wild card teams. We both pick a Super Bowl and we also pop out our award winners for things like MVP and Rookie of the Year. Then we close it out with five bold predictions, all of mine being surprising fantasy performers. As always, thanks for subscribing. Throw us a bone. I'm begging over here. Give us a good review. We appreciate it. And you're welcome.

Brian Drake (2:22)

All across the Fantasy Universe, it's week one of the NFL season and we welcome you into the Fantasy Points Podcast. I am Brian Drake joined alongside the guru, John Hansen. John, I can't believe I'm saying this, but we are mere hours away from NFL football kicking off the defending champion Seattle Seahawks will host the team they drubbed in the Super Bowl, the New England Patriots. And on today's podcast, you and I are going to go division by division. We're going to pick winners, wild cards, predict the Super Bowl, which of course we're going to nail dead nuts, and then of course give out some bold predictions. I got to ask John, are you with me on this, thinking that the NFL opening game Seattle and New England has absolutely zero juice and no buzz and is completely boring?

Yeah.

John Hansen (3:13)

Seattle working in a new offensive coordinator, they've tweaked the offense. Same foundation, I would imagine, but they have made some tweaks. They're breaking in a rookie running back. We don't know if Trevion Henderson is going to play. I think we're all expecting the Patriots to fall back a little bit after overachieving last year. Drake May played poorly in the Super Bowl. They got completely stymied.

He wasn't 100% though. And I will say these opener games do tend to have maybe a few more points than we expect. But week one last year as a whole, by the way, it was bad. Like I was looking at a total of 47, only three of 16 games went over 47 last year in week one. So to your point, I'm not expecting fireworks in week one. I mean, last year was brutal.

Brian Drake (4:08)

Yeah, most of these teams don't play their starters in anything more than a series or two in the preseason. And if anything, they're just looking at some of these joint practices. So, I mean, I'm an Eagles fan. I can look at Philadelphia. I mean, Jalen Hurts didn't play at all in the preseason. So, and they're breaking in a new offense. So yeah, I totally agree with you. If I was gonna go bet, I'd go bet some unders. I hear through the grapevine, you're doing a new betting podcast with Brawley and Dolan, is that correct?

John Hansen (4:35)

Yeah, I'll be doing that twice a week. We already recorded Wednesdays or no, is it? Actually, it just came out today, Tuesdays and Thursdays. So, I popped out a couple of plays, by the way.

I do think Ramondre can get over 58.5. It was 57.5, I think, when I popped it out, when I recorded it. But maybe it goes, maybe Trevion Henderson is expected to play, and it goes down a little bit, which would be good for everybody.
