This is Well, a podcast about wellness in all its forms. I'm Arielle Lorre, and each week, I'm sharing unfiltered conversations with the people shaping how we feel, live and look. Come for the substance, stay for the honesty, and leave with the tools to be well inside and out.
Today's guest is somebody who I have wanted to have on the show for so many years. You will hear me tell her that in the episode.
We have so many mutual people in common who have been on the show, people that we're friends with. It was truly a long time coming.
When I tell you, we probably could have talked for four hours. That is not an exaggeration at all. This is such a fun episode because Kirsty is extremely candid. She did not hold back, which you know is my favorite kind of guest. So, Kirsty is a global trainer. She's a performance coach, entrepreneur, and the Aurea athlete who has trained some of the most recognizable women in the world. She wouldn't brag, but I'll brag for her. She trains Kaia Gerber, Olivia Rodrigo, Maddie Ziegler, Haley Bieber, and so many more, and she has this incredibly deep knowledge of training and the body, but she also has the best energy. She's bubbly, funny, direct, and gives you actual answers instead of the usual fitness cliches. Today, we are getting into everything. We are talking about what the celebrity girls are actually doing right now to stay lean, how their training goals have changed, how to get those baby T-arms as she and Kaia call them, the exact move that she loves for chiseled arms, the best exercise for a great butt. We talk about how to look good naked, how she would prep somebody for a wedding or a photo shoot. We talk about microdosing HIIT, meaning High Intensity Interval Training, the importance of myofascial work. That was really interesting to me. We talk stress inflammation, post-workout puffiness and the warning signs that you are doing too much. She also gives us what she would prescribe all of us to be our hottest selves in three months. And she shares a lot about what she personally does to look and feel her best as well. She is so open, so much fun, so knowledgeable, and I genuinely could have kept talking to her for hours. So please enjoy Kirsty Godso. Welcome. Hi. Hi. So happy you're finally here.
Kirsty Godso (2:28)
I'm thrilled to be here. We were just complaining that so many of my friends have been on and it was finally my turn.
Arielle Lorre (2:34)
I saved the best for last. No offense to all the other friends. No, just kidding. But yeah, we have a lot of mutual friends in common. And I was just saying how you have been like number one on my list for so, so, so long. So just honored that you're here.
And I have so much that I want to get into with you today.
Kirsty Godso (2:51)
I can't wait.
Arielle Lorre (2:52)
I think a lot of people know you because you are like the It Girl trainer right now, right? I mean, you've had a really long career for being as young as you are. Thank you.
Kirsty Godso (3:01)
I'm 25
Arielle Lorre (3:02)
Yeah. No, it's crazy. Like how much you have packed in to like six years, right? You know, you've been in the game for quite some time and you've really established yourself. But I feel like now with Kaia, Haley, these girls that you've been training are so, so, so public. You're getting a new level of notoriety, I would imagine.
Kirsty Godso (3:21)
Yeah, it's different. It's really interesting. Cause when I first started in my career, I was on fitness DVDs. Now that will really age me, which was never chic, by the way. And then there was the Nike era, which was a huge portion of my career as with Nike for 13 and a half years. And I think that gave like a very select audience. And then when I started training like Kaia and all those girls, like I started with Kaia and Olivia Rodrigo and Maddie Ziegler, like anywhere between five to six years ago. And I feel like that was then a whole different wave of, you know, audience and people knowing you. And then obviously training Haley, who is one of the most like loved woman in the world. So it's been really like interesting, but I think what's nice is like, I'm from New Zealand. So like, I'm obsessed with all my clients. I love them, but like, we don't have celebrities in New Zealand. So like, I don't really care.
