I really always thought I would be in law enforcement. I always did. I never thought I'd do anything but that. So to make a switch like that, it's very exciting stuff.

She spent most of her adult life developing clues. Now she develops stories. There's no polite way to ask this. Do you feel like you've sold out?

Gosh, I hope not.
I did 15 years of forensics and it's a hard thing to do every day. You're dealing with people on the worst days of their lives and it's been nice to work in a different environment.
