The Great ADHD Myth?

God Awful Movies

October 6, 2026

This week, Dr. Alice and Marsh join us to debunk a homicidally misguided Channel 4 "documentary" about ADHD.

Speakers Eli Bosnick, Michael Marshall, Alice Howarth

TopicsTV & FilmComedy

Eli Bosnick (0:05)

So this is where we get our title card, The Great ADHD Myth, question mark?

Michael Marshall (0:10)

That question mark at the end. I think the question mark at the end of that title is the Not Touching Can't Get Mad documentary title.

Eli Bosnick (0:16)

Sure as hell is.

Michael Marshall (0:17)

We didn't say it was a myth, we asked a question whether it was a myth, you technically can't get us.

Eli Bosnick (0:22)

And now we're going to be introduced to the victim, sorry, subject of our documentary. This is Miles. He is an eight year old, eight?

Michael Marshall (0:30)

I think he's 10

Eli Bosnick (0:31)

10, 10 year old.

Alice Howarth (0:32)

He's also called Mason.

Michael Marshall (0:33)

Yeah, he's called Mason.

Eli Bosnick (0:34)

What do I call him?

Alice Howarth (0:35)

We call him Miles.

Eli Bosnick (0:36)

Some British name, whatever, there's like four of you. God Awful Movies. Movies.

Welcome back to the GAMCast where each week we sample another selection from Christian Cinema because sometimes the greatest religion is the religion of believing true things. I'm your host Eli Bosnick and sitting 3,311 miles or 5,328 kilometers to my immediate left, is my good friend Michael Marshall. Marsh, welcome back.

Michael Marshall (1:15)

Thank you so much. I appreciate your efforts to make me feel welcome by converting the units into a measure of distance we do not use in this country.

Alice Howarth (1:24)

We don't really use kilometers. Damn, we do not use kilometers.

Michael Marshall (1:26)

Had I been on mainstream Europe, this would have been a delightfully welcoming introduction to me.

Eli Bosnick (1:32)

Bathams? Horse hands? Do you guys do horse hands?

Alice Howarth (1:34)

We use hectares.

Michael Marshall (1:35)

We use hectares, which is a measure of area, but somehow we make it work.

Eli Bosnick (1:38)

Pounds? I should have done pounds.

Michael Marshall (1:40)

Damn it.

Eli Bosnick (1:41)

Stupid. And that delightful laugh you just heard is 11 inches to Marsh's right. They live really close to each other. Returning guest masochist, who we promised does not have to watch anyone pee in their mouth this week. Dr. Alice Howarth.

Alice Howarth (1:54)

Hello. Thank you very much for having me. It's very fun to be back.

Eli Bosnick (1:57)

Yes. So my friends, this, it's rare here on God Awful Movies that I get to blame someone else for the movie that we were watching, and I am pleased to say that not one, but both of our guest masochists came up with the movie this week. So I am blameless and new, like a fallen snow as always. So tell us Marsh, what will we be breaking down today?

Michael Marshall (2:23)

We watched The Great ADHD Myth? It is the mainstream British television documentary that was made and broadcast by the highly prestigious Channel 4, that asks, what if every single expert who ever actually studied ADHD was wrong, and the people that were right all along were the ones who liked leaving positive comments on Kathleen Stock's sub stack?

Eli Bosnick (2:48)

Okay, I know that's a deep, deep cut on people who follow Kathleen Stock, but it's a great one. You should follow Kathleen Stock's sub stack just so that you can get that joke.

And Alice, how bad was this movie?

Alice Howarth (3:04)

Okay, before I answer that question, Eli, I want to say I have watched this movie twice now. Once for Skeptics with a K, where I used it as the basis for a rant on how disabled people are being attacked both in the UK and globally. And now again for your show.

And I think for a progressive show, it is quite ironic that apparently you have no qualms whatsoever with torturing me, a disabled person, for your own amusement.

Eli Bosnick (3:26)

That's true. It's time for us to sit back and listen and not speak.

Alice Howarth (3:31)

But in answer to your question, how bad was this movie? If you like experimenting on disabled children, you will love this movie.

Eli Bosnick (3:39)

Yeah, there's a lot of, is broccoli good for you? What do you think, little Timmy, in this film?

Michael Marshall (3:45)

There really is. There really is. But it's true. That's exactly what it is. If broccoli somehow would have, like, contributed to dictating this child's future and you were still fucking with it.

Eli Bosnick (3:54)

Right. And somehow he was, like, broccoli vitamin deficient and the post and the fucking Breakfast Club clothes at the end is fucking Mason died of lack of broccoli. Speaking of which, is there anything you guys want to nominate this for being the best at being the worst at?
