Yeah, I think this year more than anything, it's been a prime example of there actually being a handful of very high level things that every normal person can agree on. I've talked about it with the surveillance state, which you were just talking about as we were rolling here on air. Epstein, obviously, that's like mass rape, and then you look at genocide, things that are happening in the Middle East.

On top of that, you got more endless wars that we've already seen the repercussions over the last 25 years and seem to not learn lessons. It's like a strange time where bad shit is happening, but maybe we can finally coalesce like as a shared humanity in a way we haven't in the last 10 years. I'm not really sure what you think Simon, but that's where my head's at.

Simon Dixon (1:24)

Yeah, I think there's the convergence of lots of different things that we're experiencing right now. I think if I could really put it down to one thing is we're definitely having that mask off moment where...

Julian Dorey (1:38)

Mask off moment.

Simon Dixon (1:39)

Yeah, where things that were previously meant to be hidden and in the shadow, there seems to be a switch. I say even just looking at it on the technical side, like previously there was like, you know, whoever controls the narrative, whoever can rewrite history can hide the things that we're experiencing today. And then we all get propagandized into some version of history at school, you know, and it is definitely rewritten from the perspective of whoever won the war.

Then we moved to like this ultra internet social media world where we're all able to talk. And I think that moved at one stage into a bit of a cancel culture. So if you didn't say the right thing, the algorithm didn't support you, or you just literally got taken out. That's right. So, you know, we became the media. But I think round about COVID, there was a very decisive switch in strategy, and there were a series of things that happened.

We had everybody, you know, spending all that time online and just switching human behavior and everything we all experienced through that whatever it was for you. And then we had that really, like, you know, like the final stages of if you talked about the wrong subject, if you said the wrong thing, you weren't with the agenda and you had to be taken out and canceled.

Julian Dorey (2:59)

That's right.

Simon Dixon (3:01)

But there was at some point, this AI became something that we were all a part of, and we had the releases of all the chat GBTs and the models and everything. But leading up to that, there was, you know, kind of the acquisition of Twitter Became X, Elon Musk.

There was that switch from, I think, the phrase that sums it up is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach.

Julian Dorey (3:27)

Oh, I remember that. Yeah. It's been a while since someone brought that up.

Simon Dixon (3:31)

Yeah. Now that one.

Julian Dorey (3:33)

Hey guys, if you're not following me on Spotify, please hit that follow button and leave a five star review. They're both a huge, huge help.

Simon Dixon (3:39)

Thank you. I think is reflective of the model we're in today. That's where they said, right, they're no longer going to cancel you. You say whatever you want and you're going to algorithmically be put in a box. And that box is, you know, you're pro-Palestinian, you're anti-Zionist, you're pro-Israel, you're whatever the box is, you know. You think the whole problem is you blame all the Jews or you think it's all about the Muslims. And you know, so people are being put in their boxes and they want you to speak. That's right. And the more you speak, the more you're building your what will eventually be a social credit score. But you're building, the more you speak, they wanted you to speak so that then they could algorithmically radicalize you into the most extreme version of your ideology.
