This is VSiN, the SportsBetting Network. This is the Football Contest Show on VSiN, the SportsBetting Network.
Matt Brown (0:48)
It is the Contest Show here on VSiN, the SportsBetting Network. Matt Brown joined, as always, each and every week, the man, the myth, the legend, the guy that makes this all happen. Derek Stevens right there. And Jeff Benson, all right, just working along. I mean, just still working as we come into the segment. The man never stops. How are you guys doing this week?
Jeff Benson (1:04)
Wonderful. You know, I had a great slate of college football today. A good crowd in the book, some good games early in the morning and got an awesome NFL slate ahead of us on Sunday.
Matt Brown (1:14)
Yeah, the book was packed all day long out here. Everybody was loving what was going on on this Saturday.
Derek Stevens (1:19)
Yeah, book was packed, stadium swim was packed. It was actually the busiest Saturday. We've had stadium swim, I think, this season for Saturday, so it's cooking.
Matt Brown (1:29)
And you guys got some, you know, I saw you put some stuff out on the internet here on the Twitter machine. We got the free concert series coming up. We got all kinds of stuff happening in the next couple of months down here.
Derek Stevens (1:42)
Yeah, a lot going on. That's Neon City Festival. We're doing it on F1 weekend, so we got a lot cooking on with that. No, overall, it's been busy and we got baseball and all kinds of good stuff.
Matt Brown (1:52)
Yeah, baseball down here after people just sitting out. We're going to have a team just sitting at home for eight days trying to figure out who they're going to play. But whatever, a different conversation. I'm sure you'll have opinions on all of that. We'll get to hang around. We will get to survive or we'll get to grand decimo. But of course, as always, we start out with Cirque a million. And, you know, Jeff, an interesting week, mainly because we get all kinds of backup information going on. We get all kinds of information actually even here today. As you guys know, these these lines come out. Picks are due at four o'clock on Saturdays. So depending on when people decided to put in some of their picks, there were there was information kind of dripping in over the last 48 hours that maybe could have weighed into some of these guys, what they wanted to do.
Jeff Benson (2:35)
Yeah, I mean, I think obviously when we get into the counts by popularity, we'll kind of dig into that a little bit more. But for us, you know, we got to put out the lines at 10 a.m. on Thursday. And it was kind of unfortunate that effectively at 10 a.m. and 30 seconds, the news of Jalen Hurst is being ruled out. And obviously today he goes on IR. So it looks like he's going to be out at least four games. But, you know, certainly move the number, you know, three, you know, across, across zero or, you know, up through three. It seems like it's settled at least back in at three. So kind of one of those things where we have to put out the number at 10 a.m. And once we go with those numbers and we release that stuff, it's, it's obviously hard to backtrack. So it's why we obviously put out the lines Thursday versus versus Wednesday. And, you know, in any of these contests where there's fixed numbers, you just don't want them to be stale. So it would have been great if we got that information five minutes before, but we didn't. And unfortunately, it's not week 18 or the end of a quarter. And, you know, there's a lot of game theory that surrounds, you know, whether you want to take the Panthers this week or whether you want to fade them or just ultimately choose a different selection. So as we kind of look here at week six, a couple of different housekeeping notes, this is week two of quarter two. Obviously, this is a five week quarter. So we got four weeks left to go.
