Welcome to Part of My Take, presented by DraftKings. The crown is yours. Today is Monday, March 30th. And Duke has choked. And I want to be the first to say, I got it wrong. I said on this show a month ago, Duke was the best team in the country, and they should easily win the NCAA tournament. They were similar to last year's team that was the best team in the country, who also didn't win the NCAA tournament. The 99 team that was the best team of all time that didn't win the NCAA tournament. And I said that if it doesn't happen, I will be front of the line saying, guys, I fucked up.

Sometimes in this business, you get it wrong. We take no pleasure in getting this wrong. I think it's also important to remember that Duke likely had several players that were suffering from severe concussions after the storming of the court that UNC had against them and knocked them out. So it's not like we should be celebrating this as a culture. It's sad that they were forced to continue playing for the rest of the season after such a violent act happened to them. And I also did get it wrong when I was talking about last year's joke that Duke had and how this year might be worse than last year. I actually got it right because I still agree with that, but I got it wrong by omission.
By not including the fact that in the last five years, Duke has had just incredible, incredible chokes. Oh, yeah. So per our darling Jake, I'll take you back to 2022 Final Four. They lost in Coach K's retirement game.

To the rival UNC. That's heartbreaking. 2023, they lost in the second round by 13 points, double digits in the second round.

And then of course, last year, they lost in the Final Four to Houston when they led by 14 points. And this year, they lost first one seed to lose by, in a game where they led by 19 points. Pretty big chokes. So I would actually go back and I'd say, this, this choke makes the Mount Rushmore of bad Duke losses in the last five years, but barely.
