The Day Tears Go Away - Part 1
InGrace with Jim Scudder
September 9, 2026
Imagine someone walks up to you in eternity and says you are the only reason they are standing there. Revelation 7 fills heaven with a crowd that nobody can number — so who brought them, and what did it cost?

I don't really know how this works, but it's interesting to me when we read about all these different people and nations and groups and tribes and clans, different languages, but they're all saying the same thing. They're all bringing worship and glory to the lamb.

Welcome back to InGrace. This is Jim Scudder, and today we are studying Revelation chapter 7, and we'll be starting in verse 9 My message title today, I think, is one we all yearn for, we all hope for. And the title is The Day Tears Go Away. You know, we have this beautiful reference in Revelation a couple of times actually, that God will wipe away all the tears. And at the beginning, I'm going to jokingly contrast, you know, when a child falls, how dad reacts and how mom reacts. And we probably need both. We need the dad to kind of be like, get up, you're fine. And we need mom to come over and give us a hug. And I think God has both of those qualities and does both of those things. There's a day when all pain is going to go away and all tears will be wiped away.
And I long for that day. It'll be a wonderful day.
But today is a day that we can serve the Lord and we can learn more about what's coming on this planet. A lot of people don't like to read Revelation. They don't like to study prophecy because it's scary or it's too confusing. I can understand it. Well, listen, I think Revelation is understandable. We're going to be helping you with that today. And by the way, we have a chart that follows the series Armageddon. It's called the Armageddon Prophecy Chart. You can only get it from us here at InGrace. And the best part, it's free. So give us a call right now. Get your Armageddon Prophecy Chart. The number is 1-800-78-GRACE.
1-800-78-GRACE. And you can also get it on our website, ingraceradio.com.
Let me also mention that InGrace has an Israel Solidarity Tour coming up in February. We would love for you to come. People say, hey, is it safe to go to Israel? I'll tell you this. I recently brought my grandkids to Israel. Say no more. I believe God will protect us in Israel. I feel safer in Israel than I do in some parts of Chicago where I live. To get a free brochure, contact us at 1-800-78-GRACE, 1-800-78-GRACE, or go to our website, ingraceradio.com, and let's together stand with Israel in Israel.

Really, the series studying Armageddon's Dawn and studying the Book of Revelation is pretty scary.
But I thought today we should start a little bit lighter note.
Isn't it funny the differences between moms and dads?
You know, if you're out playing with the kid and the kid falls, dad's reaction is a lot different than mom's reaction, typically, right? So dad's reaction, he's sitting there looking at the scene. If he doesn't see any blood pools or protruding bones, he'll say, get up, you're fine. But the same exact thing happens and mom sees the child fall. Mom rushes over to the child, picks up the child, cuddles the child, kisses the boo boo, and wipes away the tears.
Now, there's, I think, a balance there, right? I think we can learn from each other, that we need to be a little more compassionate. And women, you need to be a little more, let's let them grow up a little bit and experience hardship. Where do you think these traits come from, though? Where do you think that built-in response comes from? Well, the Bible tells us that God created us and that we're unique and we're formed in the image of God, but men and women are different. We're all humans. We're all special to God. We're all made in the image of God, but God made us different and unique and with certain traits and qualities that will help us to do those things that God has called us to do.
Where did that come from? Well, that came from God. And so what we're going to see today is yes, God is serious and has to put an end to death and pain and cancer and sin, and that has to be dealt with. And that's what Revelation is doing. That's what's happening in Revelation. It's just finally enough is enough and God will restore the world to the original creation.
