Good morning, everybody. Welcome to The David Samorano Show. This is my first one. I'm very excited for this premiere show, following up the great and famous Christopher DeSimone and Wake Up Live that has been here for a little over two years now. He's been cranking. The show density has increased. We've had to build a second studio. Just a lot of stuff going on. And, you know, this show is going to talk about news, tech, business, a little bit of politics, and we're just going to keep folks educated. And in the know, especially in the AI race, there's a lot of stuff going on. And if you don't know who I am, I'm David Samorano. I'm one of the co-founders of Live The Dream Media. Somebody around here gave me the title of CEO, but I just like to be called David. So if you see me at any point, just call me David and let's have a great conversation. Been doing this for about six years. We've got a lot of stuff going on. We continue to grow. We're moving into the AI space ourselves. So I found that it'd be important to work on communicating with listeners and viewers about what's going on in the AI race. I know there's a lot of stigma with certain components of the AI to include the data centers and different things. So I want to be here as a resource for that because, with a lot of things going on on the Internet, there is misinformation and disinformation campaigns that remain pretty active, and there's a lot of stuff going on because of AI.
There's a lot of layoffs going on right now in tech. People have been seeing it in a lot in media as well, and everybody's going to jump to say, oh, it's because of AI, and it's taking jobs, yada, yada, yada. Right out of the gate on the media space stuff, right now your big legacy media companies are pretty much scrambling to consolidate all they can as far as media components that they can just take into their area. They want to go and consolidate as much as they can. They're getting rid of folks. They're using AI and some components, but they have so much debt sitting on top of them that they're buying time at this point. I'm not going to say that legacy media is going to disappear by any means, but what I am saying is they're buying time. Now, when is it going to end? Don't know, but a lot of people have moved into digital spaces and we continue to see that.
Again, just like Chris' show, I've got the chat open, so if you have any questions about anything regarding AI, and then Maggie's going to be on after the technology talk, drop them in the comments. You can text me or you can email me, contact at ltdmedia.net. I'll see the questions on there if you have any. So let's get into this. So the first thing I'm going to bring up, I like to be a positive guy. I like to encourage folks, get them happy about stuff. So we're going to start out with that. And we're going to talk about this elephant here that is really afraid of water. OK, it's a good news story I'm going to start out with. So this is from Yahoo News.
Usually, elephants love water. They go in it all the time. They have an elephant that is named Malai. And Malai is blind in one eye. She was rescued by the Wildlife Friends Foundation in Thailand in 2016
One year later, another elephant named Alicia arrived, fully blind. So you have an elephant that is blind in one eye and then a fully blind elephant, along with some other injuries Alicia had. The real surprise the shelter rescuers was the immediate bond between them. And they found the Malai, after meeting Alicia and spending time with Alicia, started going in the water with her because she knew that she could not see even though she had a fear, didn't like the water. She went in there to help her friend and continues to do so to this day. So sometimes overcoming a fear, you just need somebody else to be there with you. And I thought it was a really cool, cute story that Yahoo had put out. You know, we don't get a lot of those. We get a lot of the negative stuff all the time and it can be very dreary and bring us down. You know, so let's start off on a positive note today with the elephant story. So thank you to Yahoo News for that. Now, let's get into the rundown of tech and business before we jump into the Marana Pumpkin Patch with Maggie Kinney, who's going to be joining us after the break.
