Before ink met page, superheroes rose from American ideals. Now, these virtues take on a powerful new form and America's comic art coin and metal program, a historic collaboration between the United States Mint and DC. Collect Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman coins and metals and limited edition designs and 24 karat gold and fine silver. Explore the collection at usmint.gov slash DC.

What's going on, everybody? Welcome back to The Game Informer Show, a weekly podcast covering the video game industry. Join us every Friday for a discussion about the latest gaming news, reviews, and exclusive reveals alongside Game Informer staff and special guests from around the industry. I'm one of your hosts today, Alex Van Aken, and today I'm joined by Charles Harte. How are you doing, Charles?

Charles Harte (1:01)

I'm good. My favorite crime is Grand Theft Auto.

Alex Van Aken (1:07)

Hell yeah. That's a good one to pick. We're also joined by Kyle Hilliard. How are you doing, Kyle?

Kyle Hilliard (1:12)

Good. Mine is stealing from rich people. I don't know what that's called.

Alex Van Aken (1:15)

Okay. Hell yeah. Hell yeah. And rounding out the show, the person who wrote our Grand Theft Auto VI cover story, Marcus Stewart. What's up, Marcus?

Marcus Stewart (1:24)

I like stealing hearts. I think you could call it Grand Theft Hard-O.

Kyle Hilliard (1:27)

Oh, I thought you were going to make a persona joke.

Alex Van Aken (1:30)

Well, welcome to the show, everybody. We're going to be getting into our Grand Theft Auto VI cover story today, like I said, written here by Marcus Stewart.

Really exciting day. We're not going to waste much time. Just want to say, hey, if you like the show, you want to support us, please consider picking up a copy of Game Informer magazine. We put a lot of hard work into especially this issue, but every issue, but I mean, it's the GTA issue. I even pulled up my old Grand Theft Auto issues from old. Got the old Vice City one here. Got a few others off camera, but yeah. Exciting times to have another Grand Theft Auto game on the cover. Of course, we've made this free to read the cover story, not the whole magazine, by going and downloading our app. You can find that in the app store, Google Play Store. Appreciate everybody who did that this week.

A lot of exciting stuff in there, and you can read it for free. But if you're wanting to have this thing for your shelf, which I highly recommend, I mean, the paper quality is insane. Really, I mean-

Kyle Hilliard (2:34)

If you continue to pitch it, Alex, I'm going to do my ceremonial-

Alex Van Aken (2:36)

Oh, please do.

Kyle Hilliard (2:37)

placement of the magazine on the wall behind me.

Alex Van Aken (2:40)

Yes, please do. Who wrote this one?

Kyle Hilliard (2:43)

Get out of here, World of Warcraft.

Alex Van Aken (2:45)

All right. Hey, I wrote that one.

Kyle Hilliard (2:47)

You did a great job, Alex.

Alex Van Aken (2:49)

You can head over to gameinformer.com/subscribe and get a print subscription or a digital subscription if you would like. You can find them. If you don't want to sign up for a subscription, you can go to your local newsstand, places like Barnes and Noble. They won't be available to purchase in places like that until about mid-October, so a couple more weeks. They have to be shipped out, put on shelves, that whole thing. But if you sign up for your subscription, you'll also be getting your copy to your mailbox around the same time.

So, let's get into it, guys. Let's waste no time. Marcus, you wrote this cover story. What was it like going into writing this Grand Theft Auto VI cover story, Marcus? I mean, you interviewed the team, you know.

It's a big game to write about, but I'm curious what it was like for you, and then we can kind of transition to the details of it all.

Marcus Stewart (3:46)

Yeah, it was fascinating and stressful and all kinds of different things. I mean, it's one of those kind of almost like, I guess, pinch me moments not to sound fanboyish too much, but it is like, I think in our line of work, the idea of when I was hired here or even when I was an intern years before, the idea that the next Grand Theft Auto cover story for a Grand Theft Auto game would be written by me is kind of like, I'm a child, and the fact that I got to leverage the fact that I was raised in South Florida and have lived here my entire life, and like, oh my god, I can actually apply a lifetime of experience to something like a big work project.
