Hello, everyone.

David Goldsmith (0:01)

This is David Goldsmith, and welcome to The Age of Infinite.

SPEAKER_1 (0:04)

Throughout history, we've seen humanity undergo transformational shifts that are so impactful, they redefine entire ages. Just recently, you've lived through the Information Age and what an incredible journey it's been.

SPEAKER_3 (0:17)

Now, think about this.

SPEAKER_1 (0:18)

You could very well be in the midst of another monumental shift, the transition to the Age of Infinite. We're talking about an age that transcends the concept of scarcity and abundance.

SPEAKER_4 (0:28)

It introduces a lifestyle rich with infinite possibilities enabled by a new paradigm that links the moon and the earth into what we call a term Mearth. The synergy will create a new ecosystem and economic model propelling us into the era of infinite possibilities.

SPEAKER_5 (0:46)

Sounds like a plot and an extraordinary sci-fi story, doesn't it?

SPEAKER_6 (0:50)

But this is a story you'll see unfold in your lifetime.

SPEAKER_1 (0:54)

This podcast is brought to you by the Project Moon Hut Foundation. We look to establish a box of the roof and a door on the moon, a moon hut.

SPEAKER_3 (1:01)

We were named by NASA to the accelerate development of an earth and moon based ecosystem.

SPEAKER_1 (1:07)

Then to turn the innovations and paradigm shifting thinking from the endeavor back on earth to improve how we live on earth for all species.

Now, let's dive into today's podcast. The title, which is The Challenge of Staying Human and Staying Relevant. Today we have our guest, Isaac Arthur.

SPEAKER_3 (1:38)

How are you, Isaac?

Isaac Arthur (1:39)

I'm doing great, David. Thanks for having me on.

Isaac Arthur (1:42)

Okay. We always do a short bio.

SPEAKER_1 (1:44)

We want to get to the content.

SPEAKER_10 (1:45)

Isaac is a science communicator, futurist, and physicist.

SPEAKER_1 (1:49)

He's a creator, a host of Science & Futurism with Isaac Arthur, one of the world's largest long-form Science and Futurism platforms on YouTube.

SPEAKER_11 (1:58)

I think you have about 850,000 followers, is that correct?

Isaac Arthur (2:01)

Yeah, on YouTube.

Isaac Arthur (2:04)

On YouTube, yeah. There's a lot of forms too.

SPEAKER_13 (2:07)

On the others, yes.

SPEAKER_10 (2:08)

Through weekly podcasts, through weekly episodes, he explores space exploration, advanced engineering, artificial intelligence, post-scarcity economics, and the long-term future of civilization, grounded in real physics and rigorous systems thinking. He's also the president of the National Space Society and a leading voice in accessible hard science futurism. He has a degree in physics.

SPEAKER_4 (2:30)

He's lived overseas in Germany and runs a small farm.

SPEAKER_10 (2:34)

Now, just so that everybody who's listening understands this, because there were a lot of questions early on about the podcast.

David Goldsmith (2:41)

How did you come up with all those questions?

SPEAKER_4 (2:43)

How did you figure this out?

SPEAKER_14 (2:44)

It's very simple, our process.

SPEAKER_1 (2:47)

We find the guest and we talk to many individuals before we find someone that we feel has the value that we need.

SPEAKER_15 (2:53)

When the guest is selected, we get on a call and we have a conversation of where we want to take or where their value is. Even Isaac could share with you, it's a rigorous type of experience. We find what we want to talk about and then he goes out on his own.

SPEAKER_16 (3:10)

The guest goes out on their own to find what they want to talk about.

SPEAKER_5 (3:12)

I've not seen the outline.

SPEAKER_15 (3:13)

I don't know what he's going to talk about. He comes back or the guest comes back and we talk. I have in front of me a blank sheet of paper.

SPEAKER_17 (3:21)

I have nothing on it besides the title, his name, and the date. That's it. That's our entire thing.

SPEAKER_10 (3:28)

Then what we do is we walk through this experience with you.

SPEAKER_15 (3:32)

I have no clue where Isaac is going and where both or all of us are going to go through the journey together.

SPEAKER_4 (3:38)

Isaac, let's get started.

SPEAKER_13 (3:40)

Do you have an outline for us to follow? Can I have it, please?

Isaac Arthur (3:43)

I do. I've said not, and the title is The Challenge of Staying Human and Staying Relevant. Okay.

Isaac Arthur (3:51)

So what's number one?

Isaac Arthur (3:52)

The core behind the core question behind the work. We worked on this coming up in advance, talking about this of what exactly does my work tend to circle around, and it is one of those things where one says, well, it's a space-based channel. But in reality, it's not a conversation about space, it's not a conversation about AI or even futurism. It's more the idea that we focus on space, we call it Science & Futurism for a reason, though. We want to talk about the future and navigate that.
