Ah, yes, here we are. The Drew Lane Show, I'm Drew Lane. Marc is here, BranDon is here. It's not the usual panel of losers. We've got three losers here ready for you. It looked like a slow day today and then all of a sudden, a few things came up. I was like, wow, there's a lot of cool stuff going on to talk about for sure.

One of them surely caught me by surprise. I was like, oh my God, I had to really just jump into action because I have some connection with this person. Jim Bakker, husband of Tammy Faye, leader of PTL, which we used to call pass the loot. Back in the day, Jim Bakker has died at the age of 86

And I happened to land in Charlotte, North Carolina right as that whole thing was blowing up. And it's so weird to think back on it because they were stealing money. I mean, it was a Ponzi scheme. They were offering their followers, who, by the way, were so loyal to Jim and Tammy. It was beyond belief. I mean, people wanted to bring them back years after.

And that was one of the complaints about PTL as time went on. But what he was doing was he was raising $1,000, and you got three nights a year for life at PTL in these condos they were building, these timeshares they were building. And it turned out that Jim and Tammy were sucking up so much of the money that they were way behind, and it became a Ponzi scheme, because they would offer a new building, a whole new group of people could get three nights a year for $1,000 if they just sent it to them, but they were actually building the preceding building with the new money coming in.

But my favorite thing was we went into the mall, we wanted to get a souvenir or something, and the bakery was spelled B-A-K-K-E-R-Y.
