And if you're not going, we all just take your Pumpkin deck.

Alec Fields (0:02)

No, no, cause what you're gonna do is you're gonna go there and top with it, and then it's your deck.

Paul McGee (0:07)

Well, I have to accomplish a top first, so.

Alec Fields (0:10)

Oh, my deck is so bad I can't top now?

Paul McGee (0:12)

No, I'm so bad I can't top.

Alec Fields (0:14)

Greed of Pod the Two back, welcome.

Paul McGee (0:19)

Hmm, okay.

Alec Fields (0:21)

Yeah, you gotta play it back.

Paul McGee (0:22)

Did you like write that down or something so you could say it and read it off here?

Alec Fields (0:26)

You gotta play it back.

Paul McGee (0:27)

Well, welcome back indeed, guys. It is another week of the podcast, the only podcast on the internet. Glad to have you here. Hope you're all having a nice Thursday.

We-

Alec Fields (0:41)

Wednesday for us.

Paul McGee (0:42)

Yeah, Wednesday for us. We have plenty of stories, a big Yu-Gi-Oh! Genesys update, first of all.

Alec Fields (0:47)

Massive.

Paul McGee (0:48)

And some Magic the Gathering updates as well.

Alec Fields (0:51)

Yeah.

Paul McGee (0:51)

Plus a couple of other card game things that have been popping up. Game Stop's up to no good. There's YouTube news.

Alec Fields (0:57)

There's a lot. What else is now?

Paul McGee (0:59)

Yeah. I feel like there's definitely more YouTube news these days in general. But anywho, OK, so first things first.

Thumbs up the video.

Alec Fields (1:10)

If you're on mobile, hype it up. Yeah.

Paul McGee (1:12)

Hype the video. Give us some good ratings. Leave some comments. Sharing helps so, so, so much. We really appreciate it.

Alec Fields (1:18)

Yeah. So this past weekend, we were in Las Vegas.

We were there for the launch event for the Gundam Assemble tabletop game. You might be thinking, what's that? Or tabletop? That doesn't sound like a card game. And you're right on. Card games are played on tabletop. I mean, that is true. But yeah, it turns out Team APS is more well-rounded than you thought.

Paul McGee (1:43)

Yeah. So Gundam Assemble is this miniature based tabletop game that kind of is coming out this month and it's seeking to, I guess, compete against games like Warhammer, 40K.

Alec Fields (1:54)

Right. I mean, when it comes to plastic models, I mean, I don't think anyone makes more money than Bondi does. So it makes some sense to get into the whole plastic miniatures deal and a war game makes sense. Gundam is essentially about war, so.

Paul McGee (2:09)

Yeah, so they invited us out to Vegas to check it out. They were doing a sort of launch party and they were featuring at this convention called Las Vegas Open, which is a tabletop convention.

Alec Fields (2:19)

Lots of, like, miniatures.

Paul McGee (2:20)

Yeah, lots of miniatures.

Alec Fields (2:22)

Which are only miniature and name only sometimes.

Paul McGee (2:24)

So yeah, like I said, we don't really play a lot of tabletop ourselves. It's involved, it seems. I was always kind of intimidated by stuff like Warhammered, because people would bring those huge suitcases to locals.

Alec Fields (2:36)

Yeah, and they certainly had them at the Expo. And they were open.

Paul McGee (2:39)

And it was always like an expensive sort of game. And, you know, they'd say it was expensive, you know, to paint the figures and all that stuff.

Alec Fields (2:45)

But I mean, at least Gundam Assemble is a much smaller game compared to those. So I think the max unit size or squad size is like five.

Paul McGee (2:53)

So yeah, it's supposed to be a game that I think is faster to play as well. A game of Warhammer can go several hours, it sounds like.

Alec Fields (3:00)

Yeah, I don't think Gundam Assemble can take hours, maybe if you play it very slowly. But yeah, the event was a lot of fun. There were a lot of creators there.

Yeah, that was neat. We got special access to be able to purchase the starter set early. So we can kind of just start playing.

Paul McGee (3:19)

Yeah, and all in all, just a cool experience. I hope to be able to go to Las Vegas again soon. It's a crazy place.

Alec Fields (3:29)

Yeah, Vegas is crazy.

More and more card game events have been happening in Vegas in the last, what feels like, five years. I think it's getting to the point where I feel like, if you're a traveling card gamer, you probably hit Vegas at least once a year.
