The Australian Mushroom Murders - H3 After Dark #85

David (0:00)

Two.

Ethan Klein (0:05)

Some idiot kills all of her friends with mushrooms.

Why did she do it? Find out today on True 2's After Dark.

Kate (0:17)

That's right, we have five people going to dinner at their relatives' house. Days later, three of them are dead.

What the F happened? That's what we're talking about today, the Australian Mushroom Murders. Hello, Harley.

Harley Morenstein (0:37)

This is all brand new to me. I don't know a single thing about this.

Kate (0:42)

Okay, this is one I followed closely at the time, and but I still learned a lot. And we also have Ethan here. Hello, Ethan.

Ethan Klein (0:50)

Hello. Nice to see you got a little close, but that's okay.

Harley Morenstein (0:56)

Is that the family, family guild master?

Ethan Klein (1:00)

It's me, Slowpoke, first name. Okay, we're not doing this, Harley.

SPEAKER_5 (1:03)

We're not doing a request. No, a request.

Kate (1:07)

We have so much to get to.

Ethan Klein (1:08)

Yeah, take the wheel.

Kate (1:10)

Yeah, I got it. I got the wheel. We're sponsored by Bellesa. They came back.

Ethan Klein (1:15)

My gosh.

Kate (1:16)

Bellesa. So we'll hear more from them in a little bit.

I know they, well, I think we're the perfect sponsors for this.

Ethan Klein (1:25)

You might say that. Enough degeneracy to go around it.

Kate (1:29)

Right, exactly.

David (1:30)

There's nothing we can do.

Ethan Klein (1:31)

There's nothing we have ever seen that we ain't shoved in one of our holes.

Kate (1:36)

Can I get an amen?

Ethan Klein (1:38)

Can I get an amen, brother?

SPEAKER_7 (1:40)

Amen. Amen.

Ethan Klein (1:44)

What were you saying before amen?

Harley Morenstein (1:47)

I'll save it for the ad read, I guess.

Kate (1:49)

Okay, perfect. Great. We love that.

Harley Morenstein (1:51)

So I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Yeah, I'm not trying to like take up more space, but doesn't it? You see our shoulders. It looks like you're on a booster seat.

Kate (2:00)

You see, you're like, Oh yeah, he's too low and too small.

Harley Morenstein (2:03)

Did you show, I think the size is right, but I am, I'm low, right?

Kate (2:09)

I don't, I think it's normal actually. I think these are our normal heights.

Ethan Klein (2:12)

You can't go higher, you're flow.

Kate (2:17)

There we go. There we go. This is showbiz guys.

Harley Morenstein (2:22)

Like that.

Kate (2:24)

I got a bit more show. Here we go.

Harley Morenstein (2:27)

This is really crazy. I shouldn't do this. Put her down.

I'm kidding. Let's just go. Let's go.

David (2:34)

Unlike other shows, unlike other shows, we wait till we're live to fuck around with the cameras.

David (2:39)

Yes, of course.

Harley Morenstein (2:40)

You guys are doing something over there, David. You're clicking stuff around when I'm not there.

David (2:45)

I come in every day.

Ethan Klein (2:46)

Guys, you want to start over? You guys want to restart the stream?

Harley Morenstein (2:49)

Let's bring it back. Let's bring it back.

SPEAKER_5 (2:51)

EverQuest.

Ethan Klein (2:52)

Re-launch, please, David. Talk about the mushrooms.

Harley Morenstein (2:55)

Yeah.

SPEAKER_9 (2:56)

Hello, everyone.

Ethan Klein (2:57)

Talk about the mushrooms and inethyl swamp.

There's not even mushrooms there. Go ahead.

Kate (3:04)

There should be. And I've always said that.

OK, so we have a couple like top of show true crime things. Do y'all know about Nancy Guthrie? I like Nancy Guthrie.

Ethan Klein (3:18)

Yes, ma'am. I know all about Nancy Guthrie.

Kate (3:22)

Oh, yeah.

Ethan Klein (3:23)

That's right.

She's on. She don't put some kind of that poison there and that in the nice southern sweet tea.

Kate (3:32)

No, Nancy Guthrie is the woman who went missing. Her daughter is Savannah Guthrie.

Harley Morenstein (3:35)

You're mixing up your After Dark episodes.

Kate (3:38)

Yeah, and I just wanted to share before we get into the full story.

Ethan Klein (3:42)

She's the one that, right. And I was like, why does everyone care about this lady? No offense to her, of course. And I mean, she's 84 So I mean, if anybody's going to get kidnapped and like disappear forever, I mean, at least, it's good that, I mean, not good, but.

David (3:57)

It's good.

Ethan Klein (3:59)

No, it's good.

David (4:00)

You said it on that. You know, I like that logic.

SPEAKER_5 (4:02)

Help, help.

Ethan Klein (4:04)

You know, 84, that's a good, that's a good. It's good. Candidate, that's a good candidate.

Kate (4:12)

Well, okay, they have released, they have released her, the two ransom notes that were allegedly sent to Savannah. And so, yeah, I just wanted to share those because we've heard a lot about them, but we haven't actually gotten to see them.
