Well, let's see, I was in Utah.
I drove the new Rivian R2. Wow. What else can we talk about?

**Spike Feresten** (1:00)
We can talk about that right now. We can talk about it now? Sure.

Well, so Rivian, they're much anticipated, smaller. Right now it's an SUV only.

**Spike Feresten** (1:09)
Right. They're not out yet, right?

**Jonny** (1:11)
Well, but let's see, they go on sale the 9th. So if you're hearing this, it's the 10th. So you can go buy one. Yeah.

Really?

So you can go on sale on June 9th.

Show me the white one, Jack. Oh, yeah. This is fun. Wow.

So this is Utah Snow. We're outside of Park City. And yeah, so basically, the Rivian R1 SUV, the R1S, it's 7,000 pounds. It can do the Rubicon Trail stock. It's just over-engineered, over-built, blah, blah, blah. This is now basically the footprint of a Tesla Model Y.
It's 2,000 pounds lighter. It's about 5,000 pounds, two motors, 556 horsepower, sorry, 656 horsepower, 609 pound feet of torque, and it can climb mountains really, really well.

For those that complain that the R1 was a little too big.

And expensive.

**Spike Feresten** (2:02)
And expensive. This is smaller.

This is 58,000. This is the launch edition with two motors and a lot of horsepower. There'll be one with two motors and less horsepower. There'll be a one motor, so rear drive only. And it's going to start at like 47, and that'll be the cheapest you can go.

There are a lot of people that have been waiting for this to come out.

A lot.

Yeah.

And so the trick for Rivian was, okay, what makes a Rivian, right? Okay. So it's got more luxury than you would think. They have like really, really like first-class interiors with first-class electronics. Like the touchscreen just works perfect. They're much sportier than they need to be to drive. And they have go anywhere capability. So can you do that at a lower price point? Cause like, you know, the average transaction price of an R1 is probably like $85,000.
So can you get that down and still make it a good vehicle? And I'm here to tell you like, yeah, they pulled it off.

He's super rivie guy. This looks like Ford and Land Rover had a baby.

But it looks, it looks just like the front of the green one, Jack.

Let's look at that one. Yeah. Oh, the blue one. That looks nice. Look, Zuckerman, I drove these things too. And I really love, I love them too. I've had my eye on this R2.
I think it's going to be cool.

If you want to lease one of these, do you know what a monthly payment will be?

**Jonny** (3:16)
That I don't know, because they're not, they don't go on sale to the 9th. But you know, what do they cost? Well, again, there's a 50 This is a launch edition, like 57, 58,000. Because they're expensive. Carmakers do this thing where it's like it's 57,000, but you have to pay a $1,500 destination fee. So yeah, I think it's like 58,500.
So, you know, what is that to lease? Like 800 a month, something like that.
