The 2nd and 3rd Round of Fantasy Drafts Are All Wrong

A massive episode today. Last week, you loved when Hayden and I told you how the first round was all out of whack, how it was all wrong. So today, we go with 13 through 36 Yes, rounds two and three, we give you our rankings versus the public, versus where everyone is being drafted. Basically, you see our favorite players and who you should draft in rounds two and rounds three. That's all coming up here on Yahoo Fantasy Football with Josh and Hayden. Last week, we told you everything that's wrong with the first round of your fantasy draft. You love that video so much that we are back. Yes, we're back this week with rounds two and rounds three, our top 36 overall for you to love and to hate.

Yeah, the first 12 or so names I felt really good about and then you really get into kind of the boom bust guys that are gonna settle your league, so no pressure for us today.

Yeah, these are kind of the difference makers and if you thought the top 12 was all out of whack, just wait till you see the 12 through 36 names. And speaking of Hayden, let's do a reset here at the top, just so the people, if you want to go and watch further conversations about our top 12, we'll just list them off here from 1 to 12, so you go first.

I got Jameer Gibbs, Pooka Nakua, Jamar Chase, Bijan Robinson, kind of a tear break after the top four, Christian McCaffrey, Jonathan Taylor, Iman Ross, St. Brown, Jackson Smith and Jigba. I'll call that a tear break. Then you get to Kenneth Walker, CD Lamb, Justin Jefferson, now that we have Kyla Marie named the starting quarterback and then number 12, Saquon Barkley.

These are all rankings here at this very moment. I even put up the date on Tuesday, August 11th at 3 o'clock Eastern. These are subject to change because Hayden, as you were saying, that Pukuniku was dragged off the practice field with the trainer. We'll see what happens if there's an update after this one. Okay.
My top 12, one Gibbs, two Bijan Robinson, three Jamarches, four Pukuniku, a five Iman Ross, St. Brown, six CMC, seven Saquon Barkley, eight Jackson Smith and Jigba, nine Justin Jefferson, ten Jonathan Taylor, 11 CD Lamb and 12, yes, I have James Cook. Hayden, we talk about this all the time. When we're drafting in the turn, we believe like those next two picks are also first round quality. So before we get into a player by player discussion here, who are your picks 13 and 14?

**Hayden Winks** (2:09)
DeVonta, AJ and James Cook, they've just done it before. I think the next group of guys have either done it a lot and are older or haven't quite done it yet, but we feel good about it.

**Josh Norris** (2:18)
We'll talk about AJ here in a moment. I have Ken Walker at 13 and then Chase Brown at 14 All right, the big conversation though starts for us together at 15 overall. I'll kick this one off because I have Omarion Hampton here.
Look, you and I have individual concerns, maybe about his style and his game and his skills, but I'm putting that to the side and focusing in on what he does well, the areas where he wins, and how it's going to be accentuated attached to Mike McDaniel, who had the running back five in points per game last year, running back 11 in points per game the year before that, and then a cool running back three and four in points per game in 2023 I am simply betting on big man runs fast in an offense that allows him to not be contacted until he's beyond the line of scrimmage. And on 52 runs when Hampton was first contacted beyond the line of scrimmage last year, he averaged 7.4 yards per rush, which is seventh best in the league.

**Hayden Winks** (3:17)
Yeah, with three or fewer yards to go, that was negative 40 rush yards over expected, that negative 40 percent. But on the four plus yards to go plus 21 percent, I thought he was really good running off tackle when his decision making didn't have to be quite as crisp. I think that he ran a little bit hesitant at times between the tackles, but this is the right offense for him. Just give him on the perimeter and it's hard to tackle a guy that's that big and that fast. I have him ranked to 24th overall RB 12 That's as low as I possibly can rank him. There's a bunch of wide receivers that I'm debating between wide receiver versus running back with Hampton. I think that Kamani Vidal is a much better pass protector. I think that Keaton Mitchell is also a great fit in this offense. We've seen this repeatedly from Mike McGill saying that he wants to use all three of them. Obviously this is August Coach B just hyping up all of his guys. I would not be surprised if this is a little bit more of a three-back committee at least compared to all the other running backs that get drafted in the second round.
