Hey, everybody, welcome to That's Me, That's Me. I'm Monica Kay.

**Julia Jay** (0:26)
And I'm Julia Jay.

**Monica Kay** (0:28)
And we're broadcasting from the beautiful Cincinnati Public Radio Studios. Here on That's Me, That's Me, we talk about what brought people back after their first meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. So we talk a lot about why we went to our first meeting, but we love hearing what brought somebody back afterward. What did they see, hear, feel, and that encouraged them to return to the rooms. And each week, we invite a guest to come on the show to share that story of what brought them back to their second meeting, and the moment they began to relate and say to themselves, that's me, that's me.
Hey, Julia.

**Julia Jay** (1:04)
Good morning.
How's it going? We've been away because, well, our listeners don't know that, but we didn't, we weren't here last week because I was out of town. I broke the pattern since January, every Thursday till last week.

**Monica Kay** (1:18)
Yeah, I missed you. It was really weird. I felt I was off-kilter a little bit last week by breaking our routine, and I missed you. And I missed having this opportunity to sit in the studio with a guest.
I talk about this a lot, but I so look forward to coming into the studio. So tell me a little bit about what's been going on.

**Julia Jay** (1:38)
Well, I went to Dustin, Florida and got a little reset. Being by the ocean always does that for me.
And I sent my oldest off to Texas for almost five weeks. He's going to work down on a ranch. So that's the sort of lead up to that is always hard for me, right, the anticipation of them leaving.

**Monica Kay** (2:01)
Julia has a little cowboy teenager who's got somehow cowboy jeans and is running through his blood and is literally learning how to be a rancher, isn't he?

**Julia Jay** (2:10)
Yeah, he said he's an aspiring cowboy. And so we got him off and that's good. And trying to navigate with summer with a 14-year-old who just wants to sleep in, play video games, order Door Dash, go to Kings Island and trying to deal with all that.
And I would say the highlight of my week so far is that my husband and I went to the Cincinnati Orchids Society Monthly Meeting, and I'm at the part of my 40s where I pick up a hobby like that. So it's Orchids for me. It was really fun. How about you?

**Monica Kay** (2:53)
Yeah, I feel like I'm coming up out of a funk. I had a summer cold last week and just really low energy. So it was a quiet week, and I try not to beat myself up too much when I'm feeling like that, about what I should be doing instead of just laying there. But plus I forgot my air conditioner also broke, and it's been super humid and hot here. So I feel like I've been, it feels good to be on the upswing because I feel like I had really low energy for a while. And but it did give me time to read a couple more of my AA pamphlets that I've been getting through.

**Julia Jay** (3:29)
I read one, the first one on the beach.

**Monica Kay** (3:33)
Nice. So this is number three. I'm going to leave this for you is AA for you. This is the 12 question one. It's kind of interesting. And I also appreciated on the back of it this Disclaimer, a Declaration of Unity. And I know I've heard this before, but I had forgotten about it. And it says, a Declaration of Unity, this we owe to AA's future to place our common welfare first to keep our fellowship united for on AA unity, depend our lives and the lives of those to come.
You know, so beautiful. So I love just kind of discovering little things like that.

**Julia Jay** (4:05)
It's also AA's 90th birthday this week.

**Monica Kay** (4:09)
It is yesterday. 90 or 91?
91

**Julia Jay** (4:14)
Like I said, 91

**Monica Kay** (4:15)
Yeah, that's what I thought you said. I also wanted to make a quick comment about our intro music and our music at the end of the show, because somebody asked me about it, like why we selected that, and I don't know if we've ever spoken about this. Did I talk about it last week?

**Julia Jay** (4:29)
You've talked about it, but I definitely think it's a-

**Monica Kay** (4:31)
Well, I'm going to talk about it one more time.
