So I've come to realize that what you put inside of you is what comes out, and therefore daily habits are so important.
And although your mind is the ultimate tool in order to master the mind, or even try to control the mind, or live with the mind, whatever your goal is, requires a lot of small practices and habits for what we eat, what we drink, how we breathe, how we move, and those set the tone for the mind. But the end goal is, in a way, the mind or the spirit.

All right, welcome back or welcome to the Finding Mastery podcast. I'm Michael Gervais, and by trade and training, I'm a sport and performance psychologist, as well as the co-founder of Compete to Create. The whole idea behind these conversations is to learn from the most extraordinary people on the planet, how they organize their inner life, and how they use those skills to excel at chosen craft. And what does that mean? Like their inner life, what is their psychological framework? How do they make sense of themselves and events in their life? How do they organize their way to engage in high stress environments? And we also want to dig to understand the mental skills that they use to build and refine their craft.
I want to take a minute here to announce a really exciting event that we have coming up. As you continue to navigate the challenges and opportunities of 2024, I want to pose a question. What are you doing right now to be great with stress? How are you working with stress on your pursuit towards your most important ambitions and goals? And I just want to get right to the heart of the key elements, one in particular, for what it takes to excel in today's high heat, high stakes world. Because stress is not the problem that we think it is. Stress is a synonym for change. And our ability to be agile with change, that is the real opportunity at hand. So if you're wanting to unlock extraordinary results and sustainable performance in your life, it's not about avoiding or reducing stress. And as simple as that sounds, it's very tricky to do. But it is about fundamentally changing your relationship with it.
And that's why I'm so thrilled to invite you to a special event. It's a free virtual event that we're offering. And it's called The Power of Embracing Stress. Okay, this week's conversation is with Tero Isokauppila, the founder of Four Sigmatic. It's a wellness company helping people nourish their bodies inside and out. Tero is a 13th generation farmer from Finland and he grew up working the farms with his family.
He earned a degree in chemistry business and a certificate in plant-based nutrition at Cornell. And I'm stoked to be partnered with Tero at Four Sigmatic and I think you'll see why in this conversation. I can honestly say this was one of the more unique conversations that I've had since we fired up Finding Mastery. And I wanted to first learn more about the impact mushrooms have on overall wellness, but this conversation ended up being so much more than that.
