Hello, all you Lasso fans. Welcome to Peanut Butter & Biscuits, your Ted Lasso fancast for NPR Illinois Community Voices and for the Front Row Network. And now, let's hear from some of the people and illustrious co-hosts for the final episode of Ted Lasso Season 4, Jeremy Goeckner. How the heck are you?

Jeremy Goeckner (0:35)

You know, my favorite things, Craig, when we mix Ted Lasso and Stephen Sondheim lyrics, it merges into this wonderful fusion that gives us this wonderful season finale. So I'm doing great.

Craig McFarland (0:46)

Yeah, you know, man, what a season finale. And thank you to everybody for understanding that this is coming a little bit later than normal. And you know what? I was thinking about this, Jer, and I didn't go back and listen. I could have just confirmed it by going back and listening to the episode. They did this to us on season three, too.

SPEAKER_1 (1:03)

They did. They did. Yeah.

Craig McFarland (1:06)

The exact same set up. So I should have known that they were not going to release the screener for season four, but that's OK.

So it was an excellent episode. I cannot wait to get into it. We've got a lot to get to, not the least of which is just to say thank you for such a tremendous season of Ted Lasso. I was kind of surprised today, you know, as we're sitting here, clock this Wednesday, October 7th, 9 47 p.m. Central time. There has not been an announcement for season five. But I think if you're reading between the lines of even the recent interview we posted with the editors of Ted Lasso, I think you could read between the lines there that they expect to be back. Also, Brendan Hunt just did an interview with Deadline as well, where he basically said, you know, he would love it to be season five. We got a story for it, but this is it, it's it. But it was almost kind of done in a way that's like, there's going to be a season five. I was just surprised it wasn't today that it was announced. But we did go on to our Facebook page. We asked for your responses to this episode. We also got some listener feedback from previous episodes that we want to play. So let's go ahead and get into it, Jer. That way we can get into the recap that everybody's looking forward to. But I want to first play a couple of listener emails that we had sent in and videos. And it was great to be able to interact with these folks. And you know, this first one is kind of fun because he gets things about half right. We now know that Alice Chilton is the culprit who's been messing with the chair all along. It's incredible to know that. But he got a good amount of this right.

SPEAKER_1 (2:46)

So, hey guys, I'm John from Louisiana. Long time listener, first three year run. Now, let's just keep going, man. As much Ted Lasso as they'll give us, I'll be listening to you guys.

I just wanted to drop you a quick line and say, I really, really love your show. I love your content. I love your feedback. Y'all's insights into the show are really awesome. And I wanted to share a theory that I had. My theory is this, Ted Lasso's coaching chair keeps collapsing. Everybody thinks it's because it's a sabotage that Roy did for the ladies locker room and it's been a running gag throughout the season. I don't think it's that. I think it's just that Ted's not supposed to sit in that chair.

I think that we kind of all, as a Ted Lasso community, see Alice becoming the head coach and when she becomes the head coach, maybe Ted's going to be like, hey, watch out for that chair. And she's going to sit in it and nothing's going to happen. And then he's going to sit in the assistant's chair where he belongs right now. And he's going to be like, oh, this is nice. And it's not going to drop on him. It's going to be everything's going to be hunky dory. Anyway, that's my theory.

Keep up the great work. I can't wait to hear you guys react to the season finale. I'm really super excited, but I'm also sad because that means no Ted Lasso for a little while. So anyway, thanks a lot.

SPEAKER_4 (4:02)

Bravo, bravo, sir.

Jeremy Goeckner (4:04)

Bravo.

Craig McFarland (4:04)

I mean, he kind of nailed half of that, right?

Jeremy Goeckner (4:07)

I mean, we need to get him an award of some kind.
